Description
   "I hate, you dummy!" Eleven year old Alex screamed. "You...broke it!" He yelled at his brother who had one of his headless army action figures in his little grubby hands, only it wasn't supposed to be headless. Alex picked up the broken off head and threw it at his younger sibling. Both of them were crying uncontrollably.

  "Alex! What did you do to your brother?" His mother grabbed him by his ear. "Don't hurt your brother!"

   "But he...broke it..."

   "Aren't you getting old for toys, boy?" His father's booming voice caused his mother to let go of his ear. Adam gripped him by his shirt and slapped him, hard. "Don't you ever....EVER  harm your brother again, do you understand???"

  Alex sobbed and nodded.

  "I can't hear you...."

   "Y-yes sir..." Alex choked out. He sat in a corner by himself, while his father descended back into the basement and his mother returned to her stitching. His sobs were small and quiet.

  "Awex..." his brother tugged on his sleeve.

  "What do you want?" Alex said in a cold voice, facing the toddler.

  His brother leaned up and kissed him lightly on his cheek. "I'm sorry..."
