Description
Alex was running as fast as he could. He just wanted to keep running. He was afraid to face his family. He didn't want to hit his dad,but what else could he do? Stand there and watch his mother get beaten? No.Elle heard banging on her front door. Alex had gotten the address of her new home the first day he came back. He had no one else to run to. At least he took his medication today, he wouldn't need to go home until the next day.
She was in a bath robe and shorts and her hair was soaked wet. She most likely just got out of the shower.
"Huh? Alex what...are you okay?" she was still worried about his seizure that she witnessed, but now she was concerned when she realized he was panting, out of breathe, and crying.
"OH, GOD! Alex, come in...." she led him into the front door and had him sit on a couch in what he assumed was her living room.
"I'm sorry, there was no one else to got to....."
"Look, don't worry about it. I'm here for you." She rubbed the back of his neck in a soothing way. The back of his neck was burning up. His face was flustered and he was far to overheated. "I'll be back." She whispered. Elle returned with a cold dish clothe and put it on the back of his neck.
"Now, tell me what happened."
"He...he hit my mom. I couldn't let him hurt her....I....they...." he was tearing up. "They were better off without me. I should've stayed in that mental hospital.
"What?" Elle looked shocked. Her eyes locked on Alex in disbelief. "Where were you?"
"I...I went insane for sometime. I was in complete denial....Elle?" he noticed she looked away from him and stood up. 'Oh God...' Alex thought. '...she hates me now, doesn't she?'
