  Later that day, both of the boys and their mother were showered and dressed, the house looked its neatest, and they were all in a relatively good mood. Then the sound of their Dad's old, familiar truck passed all of their ears. Each of them seemed to exhale one after another,but Alex was the first one to stand up and go outside, then followed Lillian, and finally Josh.

  "Welcome back dear-" Lillian began,but anger and fear filled her heart when she saw HIM. Uncle Richard. He emerged out of the passenger's seat.

  Josh quickly hid behind his brother. Why was he here? Who the fuck does he think he is?

  "Lillian, it has been far to long," Richard held out his hand to shake hers, she hesitated,but reached out her hand as well. All she could think was 'These hands hurt my children...violated them. Took away their innocence and their childhood. I could never forgive him.'

  He had a sick grin on his face when he stared into Alex's face....the same grin he had that night. Alex loomed over then now shorter man,but made sure Josh was still hidden. Uncle Richard embraced Alex and caught him off guard. He whispered so no one else could hear. "You've grown so much...it is a shame, you were such a cute kid." Maybe it was reflex or pure rage,but Alex pushed the man off of him.

  "YOU SICK FUCK!" Alex screamed. It caught everyone by surprise, even himself.

  "C-come on now, Alex, what's the matter?" His uncle backed up, just now realizing how much he had grown. Alex came closer, leaving Josh unguarded,but his mother quickly ran over and hugged the crying, younger Shepherd.

  "What the hell is going on?" Adam said as he stopped Alex in his tracks.

  "That sick son of a bitch is a pedophile." Alex pointed at the quivering Uncle.

  "That is just plain bullshit." Adam snapped back.

  "N-no, Dad. It isn't." Josh stepped forward. "He touched us." Josh choked out and Alex nodded when his father's gaze traveled to him.

  "A-adam. Who are you gonna believe? A couple of brats or your brother? Remember all the times we used to hang out? All of the good times growing up? Huh?" Alex stalked closer and grabbed his uncle by the collar. "You are going to pay..." Without hesitation, Alex began beating him into a pulp, clobbering him like a monster. Surprisingly enough, most people rushed by when they saw this scene on the Shepherds' front lawn instead of doing something. Adam went to the back of his truck and pulled something out, then he pulled Alex off of his brother.

  "D-dad?" Alex father held a shotgun in his right hand.

   "Go stand with your mother, Alex." His father said in a way that made his skin crawl. Alex obeyed his father's words.  Adam aimed the gun at his brother's head.  "Brats...huh? These ARE MY CHILDREN! And you are a sick bastard who hurt them...." Adam was a few moments away from shooting the outed pedophile,but pulled back his shotgun. "Go...leave now...and I swear to God if you ever come back or ever try to hurt my children or any children at all....I will kill you."

  Richard ran, with his tail between his legs. That would be that last time the Shepherd family would see him for awhile.

  Adam exhaled and Alex's mouth was slightly gaped open. He hadn't expected his father to believe him, much less threaten his brother's life....and he said MY CHILDREN. Not just Josh,but BOTH of them. It made Alex smile. "Dad..." he said softly, in a way were no one else heard.

  Josh and their mother ran over and embraced Adam and then Alex. Adam smiled and put a hand on Alex's shoulder. "Alex..." his father sighed and looked at the rest of the family. "Let's go inside."
