Description
   It was later that night. No one said much at the dinner table,but that wasn't necessarily bad or good. It was really late....around 11:30 or so. Josh was fast asleep and he seemed to be smiling...no nightmares tonight. Lillian was drifting away into a dreamless sleep with a relieved express plastered on her older features. Alex and Adam, however, were wide awake.

  Alex trotted down the stairs to the fridge, he needed a drink...and he wasn't thinking of orange juice. He pulled out the nearest alcoholic thing he found...vodka. He shifted through the shelves until he found a small glass. He pulled it out.

    "You better find two, boy." his father's voice echoed in the nearly empty kitchen. Alex quickly reached back in for a second glass. He sat down and poured some for each of them. They both gulped down the first glass simultaneously.

  Two hours and a nearly empty vodka bottle left the two men delusional and yet telling the truth.

  "L-listen...Alex...so..son...ugh." Adam tried to maintain his balance,but was having a hard enough time keeping his sentences together .  "Y-you..."

  "Wha???D-da...."This was Alex's first time drinking more then a sip of beer, and he was lucky to get a syllable out without drooling or laughing.

  "I lllove...you..son! I always have...." Adam leaned against Alex and attempted to hug him. It was a messy hug,but a loving one, nonetheless.

  "I lo...ve u....u to DADDY!" Alex cried hugging back. Adam began crying and smiling. Two things Alex had never seen him do....at least not towards him.

  Lillian woke up to Josh banging on her door in the morning. She noticed Adam not sleeping next to her. "Mom? Where is Alex?" Josh opened the door. "Dad's missing, to?" Josh looked at the empty spot next to his mother. She sat up.

  "Let's go check downstairs..." she said calmly.

   They found Alex laying across the kitchen table, passed out. Adam, was sitting in a chair, his head leaning over on the remaining space of the kitchen table, also passed out. Lillian picked up the empty vodka bottle. "Good Lord, what am I going to do with these two?"

Josh chuckled lightly.
