Description      The rest of the night passed by quickly for Alex. He couldn't really feel anything or express himself due to how heavily medicated he was. He hoped tomorrow would be better.

Alex awoke the next morning, realizing the only other person home had to be his mother. He jumped to his feet, feeling slightly refreshed. For a moment he sat in silence, but then it happened. All of the emotions he had to hold back the day before rushed back. He began crying, laughing, screaming, and smiling all at once. It was just to much. When he heard rushing footsteps to his room he quickly shut his mouth. His mother lightly tapped on the door.

"Alex?" she spoke softer and slower then he remembered.

    "Yeah?"

"I have some clothes here for you, I think they should fit....is it okay to come in?"

"Yes..." Alex always loved how his mom would give him his personal space.

A click from the door signaled she would come in. She placed a simple pair of jeans, black Converse, and a black long sleeve v-shirt. "I'll just...leave these for you," she smiled weakly, and left the room.

Alex entered the bathroom and looked at his reflection. He hated how he looked now; unshaven, longer greasy hair, and tired and exhausted. Well, there was one thing he didn't mind: his body was completely toned and fit, not like a body builder, but like a real soldier. He must have done nothing except work out while he was in the hospital.

He jumped in the shower, scrubbing his body down, he didn't want to smell like a hospital anymore. He dried himself off and wrapped a towel around his waist. Shaving his beard and cutting his hair frantically, he began to look more like his twenty-six year old self, instead of looking like a depressed old fart in his forties. Finally, he dressed and added the finishing touches on his hair to give it the signature shark fin style he always had. It was almost reflex that he put his father's dog tags on. He thought about keeping them off,but he couldn't. Not yet. He hide them inside of his shirt.

"Oh, my, don't you look nice," his mother said softly as she handed him his required meds and a glass of water.

"Thank you," he uttered before gulping down what seemed like a ton of pills.

"I have to visit Judge Holloway about something, and Josh won't be coming home for sometime, would you mind joining me?"

Alex knew there was no way he could object, seeing as though he wasn't trusted to be alone. "Okay..." he exhaled.

They both exited the Shepherd  home.
