   "Go to your room, Josh." His mother instructed.

    "But Mom-"he opened his mouth to object,but saw the stern look on his mother and quickly ran upstairs.

    Even though he slept most of the day before, Alex was exhausted and simply wanted to rest in HIS bed. He began towards the stairs.

   "Wait, Alex, we need to have a talk, along with your father." His mother said soothingly.

   Adam emerged out of the basement and glared at his wife and son.

   "Adam, we need to talk, NOW!" Alex had never seen his mother raise her voice like that to his father. Alex was actually glad his mother had grown more courage since he'd been gone.

   "I don't need this, Lillian, I really don't-" Adam sounded tired and aggravated.

   "You let them administer electroshock therapy to Alex? WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU? WE AGREED WE WOULDN'T HAVE THAT HAPPEN. HOW COULD YOU-"

   She was cut off by her husband yelling back. "He was already INSANE! That was our only choice! Besides, it isn't like he even matters!!!" Adam's true feelings came out. Alex always knew it,but hearing it out loud made his heart ache.

  "You son of a bitch...." In a flash, Lillian's hand snapped across her husband's face, causing a red hand print to appear where she took out her anger.

  "You dumb bitch, WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE HITTING??!!" Adam punched his wife...like he would punch a man. Hard. She nearly feel to the ground, her nose bleeding. Another hit, this time a black eye would be forming. It all happened so fast.

   Alex had to defend his mother. His body acted on its own. He lunged in front of his mother and pounded his father's face until he was on the ground bleeding and shaking.

   Alex was quivering. "I--I'm sorry...." He couldn't control his shaking. What kind of talk was this? He couldn't believe what had just happened.
