    "Listen, Zoey, I think it would be best if we stay out of it. I mean, Nick and Ellis have to solve their own problems as a couple. Just like you and I do." Louis spoke calmly as Zoey paced back and forth.

    "But...I mean I SAW Nick with that woman. I don't want Ellis to be hurt. He's such a sweet man and-" Her voice full of emotion as she was moments away from crying.

   "Honey, calm down, okay? You're just emotional because of the pregnancy. Don't worry. It'll all get solved." Louis rubbed her swollen stomach gently and motioned for her to sit down.

  "I sure hope you're right." Her worried expression not fading she sat down, twisting her wedding band that matched Louis's. Before another word could be uttered, the doorbell rang.

   Louis zipped to the door and was greeted by Francis and his female partner, Rochelle. Unlike Zoey and Louis, they weren't married, but they as well have been.

  "LOUIS!" Rochelle hugged him tightly, nearly choking the kind man. She hugged him as though she hadn't seen him in years...even though they just went on a double date last night.

  "What's up, baldy?" Francis playfully punched him in the arm after Rochelle let him go.

  "Well aren't you two excited. What's going on?"

  "Wait...where's Zoey?" Rochelle said with her impatience prominent. Zoey waddled down the hallway shortly after Rochelle uttered the question.

  "I'm here...so..what's going on?"

  "I'm pregnant!" Rochelle blurted out and was instantly grabbed into a hug by Zoey. Squeals and screams of joy erupted in the three-story house.

  "Congrats, man!" Louis hugged Francis, to his displeasure.

  "I told Coach and his wife this morning. We HAVE to tell Ellis. Wanna come with me down the street to tell him?" Rochelle questioned excitedly to Zoey.

  "Oh my God, YES! Let's go." Zoey trotted with Rochelle out of the door. "You boys play nice, okay?" She called out to the lone men.

  "Tell that to Francis!" Louis coughed out as the man had him in the choke hold from the hug. Zoey and Rochelle couldn't help but giggle.

  "Wanna walk or take a car?"

  "Walking is fine...besides....Ro there's something I want to talk to you about."

  There was a pause and slight fear began to creep up Rochelle's spin. What could she need to discuss...and she posed the question in such serious tone. "What...what is it?"

  "It's about Ellis and Nick...well I think something is going on..."

  "You, too...huh? I never trusted that Nick. I never understood how someone as sweet as Ellis ended up with such a jerk. And they've been together for two years already. Makes you wonder about them. "

"I think...maybe Nick is cheated. I've been seeing him around town with the same blonde woman...over and over. I mean...he never saw me,but...do you think El knows?" Zoey spoke with great sorrow as she trotted at a stead pace with Rochelle at her side.
  "Ellis isn't dumb...he might've figured it out. I think Nick was Ellis's first with anyone, male or female. Maybe he's just so attached that he doesn't want to let go."

  "We...have to confront him about it."

  ".....yeah."

  "OH MAH GAWD RO! CONGRATULATIONS!" Ellis gripped onto her tightly, but gently as she uttered the news to him in rather large and comfy living room of the house Nick and Ellis shared. The place was immaculate, to say the least. "Jus' think..you and Francis gonna be having mini yous running around in NO TIME! And Zoey's baby gonna have a playmate!" Ellis chuckled lightly as he sat back down, inbetween the two women.

  "Thank you, Ellis. But...listen..sweetie. There's something Zoey and I need to talk to you about." Rochelle took his large, calloused right hand and held it tightly with her slender fingers.

  "Wha...what?" Ellis's voiced changed from its joyous tone to a rather serious and concerned stammer.

  "Look...we've been seeing Nick around...with a woman...a lot." Zoey put bluntly, but said with as much kindness as she could, wrapping her arms around Ellis's broad shoulders.

"But...I mean Nick goes out all the time nd..."

"Ellis...sweetie has he been acting differently?" Rochelle tried her best to be gentle with the question, squeezing his hand even tighter.

  "I..he had been kinda moody and been out even more...ya don't think?" Ellis looked up at Rochelle with teary eyes before his hatted head looked down at the white rug. "He...out all the time. I never see him anymore...I..." All noise stopped...and then he began to full on cry.

  Zoey held him tight while Rochelle patted his head.

  "Shhh...don't worry sweetie it will be okay." Rochelle hummed soothingly.

  "We're here for you Ellis...we're here." Zoey assured the young man.

   A few hours of crying and talking and hateful words spewed towards the gambling man, Ellis suggested for the women to return home.

"It's gettin late...and Nick MIGHT be coming home soon...though he won't stay fer long. Ya'll should be getting back...'sides I need some time ta think by mahself."

  Both women complied and returned to Zoey's home, meeting up with the two men who were in some childish argument over about sports.

  "You think...we did the right thing, right?" Rochelle asked Zoey, looking for reassurance.

  "Yeah...we did the right thing, hun."

  When Ellis had told them he needed time to think, he actually needed time to drink. The young man would often wear one of this lover's shirts at night with little else. And so he was dawning a dark red button-up shirt that barely passed his thighs. While drinking anything he could find in the house, even if it tasted like puke. He stumbled up the stairs, and into his and Nick's bedroom. He fumbled through things, including the bed stand on Nick's side of the bed. Ellis pulled things out of it before he came to a magazine...that was...woman's lingerie. And... jewelry. WOMAN'S JEWELRY. Ellis threw the items back in forcefully before slamming the compartment shut. It was final...Nick was cheating. And Ellis wanted revenge.

  Nick came home earlier than Ellis expected...about 8:30 or so. Ellis sat on the large couch with the lights off, waiting for the man to get home, fire burning in his intoxicated eyes.

"Ellis...getting read for bed already?" Nick said slyly, hoping to get a fun night in with the kid. As he clicked the nearest light on he practically jumped. "Damn..you've been drinking? Jesus Christ!" Nick looked down at the multiple bottles surrounding the couch. "How MUCH have you drunk? Half of this shit you don't even like."

"Yew...need ta SHUT UP, MEESTER!" Ellis stood up wobbly, nearly falling over.

"You need to get upstairs to bed because YOU are drunk."

"OH HELL NO! CAUSE THEN YOU JUS' GONNA RUN OFF AND...WE NEED TA TALK RIGHT NOAW!" Ellis blared out in an angry rage.

"Listen, we'll 'talk' in the morning, but you're drunken screaming is just going to alert the whole damn neighborhood and the cops are going to get called....come on, up to bed."

And Nick dragged the intoxicated 'brat' to bed. It seemed as though the kid passed out as soon as he hit the pillows. Nick's phone rang. He walked out into the hallways answered. His voice was in a slight whisper. "Sarah...not tonight, okay? Maybe tomorrow. He's not the best of shape. Yeah...uh-huh. Not like the kid is going anywhere. Fine..." and with an attitude, Nick said.." I love you, too."

It sent Ellis over the edge. He nearly jumped out of bed and seemed to sober up quick. "WHO THE FUCK IS SARAH?" Ellis slammed into the older man, using his shirt to pin him against the banister of the stairs.

"ELLIS! CALM DOWN!"

"DUN'T TELL ME TA CALM THE FUCK DOWN YEW CHEATIN SUNUVABITCH!" Ellis slammed his back on the banister before letting go.

"You've got it ALL wrong, now if you would just-"

"I GOT IT WRONG? WHAT'S WITH THE DAMN PANTY MAGAZINE AND RO AND ZOEY BEEN SEEING YOU 'ROUND TOWN WITH SOME SKANK! YOU BEEN OUT LATE ALL THE TIME, TEW!" Ellis began to shove Nick, who then turned his back to the stairs and tried his best to get away from the roaring hick. He didn't want to hit Ellis if it wasn't necessary.

"I can explain!"

"THE HELL YEW CAN! YEW DUN'T GIVE TEW SHITS 'BOUT ME!" Ellis clawed at Nick's face, who replied with a hard slap to Ellis's face. The young man had bit his lip from the impact, and it began to bleed.

"Ellis...I didn't mean to.."

"YEW FUCKER!" Ellis began throwing everything he could at Nick, no matter how expensive or dangerous it was. "I DO EVERYTHING FOR YEW. I NEVER GAVE UP ON YEW! AND YEW REPAY ME BY CHEATIN' AND HITTIN'?" Ellis spat out as a vase came crashing near Nick's head.

"SHIT, ELLIS COME ON!" A picture frame barely missed his cranium as he ran down the rest of the stairs and towards the door.

"AW, HELL NO YEW AIN'T GETTIN' OUTTA THIS THAT EASY!" Ellis ran in the opposite direction of the front door...the kitchen...and emerged out with a frying pan. And not just any...and old fashioned one that was passed down in his family from his grandmother's grandmother. And he was going to use it for a completely different purpose. Like a madman, or rather an woman scorned, Ellis ran after Nick with the pan, screaming out swear words many would've never expected to hear from the sweet hick. And he alerted the whole neighborhood. Zoey, Rochelle, Louis, and Francis all ran out of their respectful homes, to see the sight of Ellis screaming at Nick in nothing but that buttoned-down shirt and a frying pan in hand.

"Zoey...you DIDN'T!" Louis stared at her in shock as the two couples conveyed while walking towards the commotion.

"BUT he needed to KNOW!" Zoey defended herself.

"I kind of...helped tell him. Rochelle spoke up in a quiet voice.

"OH GODDAMMIT. Ro, what the hell?" Francis ran his hand down his face.

  "Guys...uh...GUYS?" Louis tried to call out two the battling men.

Nick simply gestured for them to go away while Ellis threatened him with the pan. It  was almost a comedic scene...like something off of Jerry Springer. Oh, how Nick despised that show. And a car began to drive down the street, aimed to Nick and Ellis's driveway.

"IS THAT THE BITCH RIGHT NOW? HUH?" Ellis screamed at Nick."IMA GIVE HER A PIECE UV MAH MIND. I DUN'T HIT WOMEN..BUT THAT BITCH GONNA-"

"ELLIS WAIT, COME ON...DON'T!" But Ellis trotted out into the street, ignoring Nick's pleas and then throwing the frying pan with great aim, hitting the man straight in the face, blood gushing from his mouth and nose as he hit the ground.

Ellis slammed on the woman's side door before she could open it, motioning for her to get out.

"You must be Ellis...I'm-" She uttered as she exited the car. She had sunglasses on , long blonde hair, and a familiar looking nose that Ellis couldn't quite place in his rage. She was wearing a small, hot pink dress and heels. She looked to be about the same age as Ellis.

"A little skank homewrecker who's been messin' 'round with mah Nick." Ellis smiled at her evilly, keeping his voice low.

"I'm sorry..but..I..you must be mistaken...I'm Nick's younger sister, Sarah." She motioned her arms in a cute manner. "You must be his lover...Ellis." So that's why her nose looked familiar...it was the same Nick had. And she removed her glasses...same green eyes. "OH MY GOD, NICK WHAT HAPPENED?" In the midst of their meeting, Nick had staggered over, covering the lower half of his face with his hand.

"He thought we were...together." Nick glared at Ellis.

"But the underwear magazines...and jewelry." Ellis stammered, dumbfounded.

"Oh...well the jewelry was late birthday gift and...I wanted Nick to help me out with picking out lingerie. After all, Nick always had an eye for cute clothing and such. I should've known you were pitching for the other team a long time ago." She giggled. "Nick told me so much about you...he wanted us to meet really bad. And he told me how much you wanted to meet some of his family. So...here I am."

"Well..ya'll do look related...sorry...'bout all this...nice ta meet ya." Ellis shook her hand, but she quickly grabbed him into a friendly hug.

"Can someone drive me the ER, now?" Nick breathed out.

And that is how Ellis met his lover's sister.
