     Alex looked to his father with a light smile. "Let's get this done and over with."

     Lillian grabbed Alex and hugged him tight. She knew she shouldn't have,but she loved her son. Ever since he was born, before he was born. She remembered holding his frail body and sobbing when she heard he might never walk or might not even live to see puberty. And yet, here he was, a miracle. Towering over his mother and father. Young, healthy, and handsome. And now they had to end his life. They were destined to kill their miracle child. She let him go, sobbing. Lillian choked back words and Alex simply kept smiling. It made her cry even more.

      "Come on..." Adam said, leading Alex up the stairs. While they ascended the stairs, Lillian heard a door shut, signaling they were closer to the bathroom and thus, closer to Alex's ultimate fate. She began pacing...waiting to hear something, watering splashing, screaming, anything. The front door opened and Josh came in.

     "Hey, Mom...I forgot my pajamas...."

      "H-honey, wait, I'll get them for you..."

       "No, its okay...I left them in the bathroom. I can get them."

       "NO!" She grabbed him before he could get far up the stairs. She pulled on his arm, hard, causing him to fall down the steps he had climbed and hit his forehead. He was bleeding from a light gash on his head. He sat up on his knees.

      "M-mom? Why'd you..." he started to sob.

      For some unknown reason, this made her infuriated. She wanted to scream 'YOUR BROTHER IS DYING FOR YOU, YOU STUPID LITTLE BRAT!',but instead held back. She didn't hate Josh, she loved both her sons and didn't want to lose either of them,but she couldn't control her emotions. When Josh began crying louder, she knew Alex would hear and become worried, so she slapped him.

     "SHUT YOUR MOUTH!" She grabbed on tightly to her son and began crying and shaking, beginning to rock Josh back and forth. The young boy as confused and let him arms fell to his sides as his mother rocked him like a baby.

     Alex laid still, fully dressed, in the tub waiting for his father to execute him...or would sacrifice be a better word? His father hovered over him. Alex's lips were still curled into a gentle smiled.

    "I'm glad...." Alex started softly when his father looked away. ".....I could be of some use and not just take up space..."

     Adam couldn't hold back anymore. "We LOVE you Alex, we always have! Josh, your mother ,and I have always cared for you!" Adam began sobbing. Alex's heterochromic eyes began to widen, his lips turned downward into a frown and he sat up tightly embracing his father. "I love you so much Alex, my miracle child."

     "I love you to, dad...." He let go of this father and laid down. "It's okay....you can end it now." Alex's smile returned to his pale face as he closed his eyes.
