      Alex laid motionless (the smile still plastered on his thin lips), the water soaking into his jeans and black t-shirt. He could hear Adam crying,but he didn't open his eyes because he knew tears would fall from his eyes if he saw that man cry. He had never seen his father cry until today. It was a heart wrecking sight. He closed his eyes tighter, waiting for the deed to be done,but it seemed like hours passed. Alex couldn't help it, he began tearing. He turned his head sideways. He was getting angry. Why wouldn't his dad just do it?

      "HURRY UP!" Alex could hear his father jump at the sudden outburst. Alex hadn't meant to sound that harsh,but he wanted it over already.

     "Please forgive me...........e.....e......i...ca," Adam said in a small voice. Alex couldn't quite make out what he said after. The teenager could feel his father loom over him. Hands wrapped around his neck and he began to be pushed under the water. Then, he was let go. He felt his father pull him up and grab him in a tight embrace. "I won't let you die, much less kill you myself." Adam grabbed Alex out of the tub. "Get your stuff together, now. Take only what you need."

     "Dad..."

     "GO!"

     Alex rushed into his bedroom and grabbed only essentials. Adam stomped downstairs and saw Lillian sitting with Josh. Good, they didn't have to pick him up.

    "Adam....did you?" Lillian looked up with red eyes.

    "Get what you need, both of you, NOW!"

     "Adam...?"

     "There isn't time for discussion, Lillian, do it now!" Adam's voice shocked both of them.

     Josh jolted up to his room were he found a soaked wet Alex. "Alex...what happened? What's wrong with dad?"

    "I don't know,but get your clothes together and anything else you really want to keep."

     Josh stuffed in any clothes he could find that were his and secretly stuck in Robbie and the flashlight Alex gave him. Both of the boys trotted down the stairs and met their mother in the living room. She had a sweater on and was carrying a bag over her shoulder. Her eyes were locked on Alex.

     Adam made his way downstairs last. "Come on, everyone get in the car." There was no room for discussion at all. Adam knew there would be consequences, but he would deal with them when the time came.
