Description
     Alex and Elle entered the empty Shepherd's Glen. The only other person was Wheeler who had already retreated to the abandoned police station. Elle tried her best to help Alex's beaten and bruised body back. They all agreed they would leave Shepherd's Glen and never speak about what happened, to anyone.

    They entered Alex's empty home. Elle placed him gently on the couch in the familiar living room while she searched for medical supplies. Then it hit him. His entire family gone. His mother, who had tried her best to be there for him. Even his father, who had never shown him love. He would do anything to hug them. And Josh, oh God, he was gone. Gone forever. He was so young. He would be thirteen if he was still alive.

    Elle heard a loud sob from below the stairs. She grabbed the pain pills and med kit she found in the bathroom and rushed to his side. She embraced him gently, trying not to further extend his pain.

  "Oh, GOD!" he cried. "T-they're really gone," he stuttered to choke out the words.

   "Shh," Elle tried her best to calm him, and slowly rocked his beaten frame back and forth, almost in a motherly fashion.

  "Elle...." the tears ran down his cut cheeks. He was so exhausted. He didn't even scream when she tended to his wounds. He slowly fell into a much deserved sleep.

    Morning came and for the first time in years, there was sunshine in Shepherd's Glen. A loud bang was heard on the front door of the Shepherd household. Elle nearly jumped out of her skin. She rushed to the door, dreading another bang that would wake her sleeping friend.

"What!" She muttered when she opened the door rubbing her sleepy eyes. "Wheeler!" she exclaimed.

"Wake up Sleeping Beauty," he said quickly. "I want to get out of here as soon as possible."

  The trio began stumbling through the familiar town, making their way to the exit. No monsters, no fog, but no one. That is until Alex saw something that made his heart skip a beat. A light was flashed into his eyes.

   Alex limped his way towards the source of light, away from Elle's helping hand. "Come back," he seemed to cry out. "I'm not gonna hurt you." He exhaled deeply as he crammed himself into the alley where the light came from. A quick, slender figure ducked behind a huge dumpster. "Please," he moaned.

  Soon, a young boy emerged from behind the dumpster, tightly clutched a familiar flashlight and wearing a strange necklace around his neck. He was shorter then Alex,but still lengthy and slender. His skin was pale and his dark brown hair reached his shoulders. His tan shorts and orange shirt were far to small for him. His massive brown eyes staring at Alex.

   His mouth was left open, gaping. He looked away in disbelief. It just couldn't be...was he going insane again? "J-Josh?" he finally choked.

  The smaller boy inched forward. He had grown so much it was as if he had always been there. Alex backed away, afraid that it was all in his head. He stumbled out of the alley. The he saw something that shocked him.

   Nora. She was standing in front of Elle who was shaking her head in disbelief. "Elle," she smiled and stretched out her arms. Elle's gaze flashed to Alex and Wheeler, making sure it wasn't all in her head. Alex smiled back to her, assuring her that it wasn't in her mind. They embraced tightly, squealing and giggling the whole time.

  "Alex," a weak voice whispered from behind him.

   The older man spun around and could barely contain himself as he cried and hugged his brother. It was as though he had never left, like he was still growing every day.

  "Josh, oh God!" he tightened his embrace, slightly lifting his brother.

   "Alex..." his brother tried to hold his older brother as tight as possible.

   Wheeler held back tears at the heartwarming scene displayed before him. He didn't understand how it was possible and didn't care or question it. "Alright, folks, let's leave this god forsaken town."
