I didn't get anyone's hopes up, did I? Es tut mir leid, I just wanted to try and see how close to the real McCoy I could possibly get.This must be the Satam version of that AU I've got where Sonic and Tails' ages are reversed, although I guess it wouldn't be that weird if it were Mobius Prime what with Tails being married to someone in the same age bracket as Sally in Mobius: 25 Years Later. I think Tails would make a much better king than Sonic, he's just as brave, a trillion times smarter, patient, he's not an asshole so he won't trash diplomatic negotiations with a compulsive need to flex his ego, if he can't already fly as fast as Sonic can run then I'm sure he can invent a gadget that'll infuse his tails with power ring energy or something, and if he reproduces with Sally imagine the noggins those kids are going to have! While the other next gen Freedom Fighters are still playing with their toes, they'll be doing calculus on the side of their crib. Plus we know from Skye that the two tails thing is genetic so now you've got flying genius mutant fox-squirrel royalty, I'm having trouble finding a downside to this pairing.

I'd like to see you helm a Sonic series (using the name because it's what people recognize), probably a comic, based on your old image Tails the Hero, or was it Sonic the Sidekick, where Tails is the adult hero with Sonic as the child. Maybe show things from kid sonic's perspective at times to see how he feels about Tails and everything going on around him. Until he inevitably screws up because he's a kid (and because he's sonic) which forces Tails to more or less ground him.

well, not much is known at the time... but Ian Flynn will be the main writer for the comic.Β
I honestly hope they keep the Freedom Fighters in the new comic...Β
(that's true... but i doubt that will happen. SEGA placed very strict guidelines after the previous reboot... in order to make the comics more similar to the games. heck they even made Robotnik and Snively completely unrelated.. since the game characters cant have relatives that werent introduced in the games. )

Yeah... as a result Sonic and uncle chuck also arent related.... alll the characters that werent from the games, from the cartoon and that werent created by Ian Flynn staff were removed.. (Sonic parents, Tails family.. all the echidnas.. Fiona and the destructix... Anti Mobius... and pretty much everything Ken Penders created.)

OK that was a bit mean but from what I've seen, Sonic is the one of the only things that gets worse by not deviating from the source material. If SEGA keeps a tight reign on the leash for creativity then I doubt it will ever be good again, let the writers do their job while you try and fail to make games. IT speaks volumes that the best, or only good, Sonic game made in years was Sonic mania which wasn't made by SEGA or even the Sonic Team.

This reminded me that I have some episodes of this series recorded on VHS... The image must be horrible after 10 years without watching (and one note of sadness: in Brazil "The Care Bear Family" is no longer displayed on the open television in 2003 replaced by Sonic).

You make a very valid point! As I'm currently reading the archie comic online (so... many... issues....) I can honestly vouch for you on the whole 'Tails would be a better king than Sonic' thing. He never listens to anyone! He is way to cocky and it's his way or the highway really, probably because he has super powers where the SATAM cast do not. This portrays him as arrogant and a bully. At least in the games other characters with powers is the norm so Sonic has to earn his keep in the limelight.

Wonderful memories of the Saturday Sonic series here, with Jaleel White providing an excellent voice for Sonic, plus the other cast members. Bradley Pierce, still a little kid from providing the voice of Chip from Beauty and the Beast. Kath Soucie, already loving her as Fifi from Tiny Toons, providing both Sally and Nicole's voices. Christine Cavanaugh (God rest her soul) already well-loved by Nickelodeon fans as Chuckie from Rugrats for providing Bunnie's voice. Plus Rob Paulsen giving Antoine an attitude that was both annoying and funny because he's such a loser. And Jim Cummings with the creepiest cybernetic voice for Robotnik. And yet, we cannot forget the performance of the great Tim Curry voicing Sally's father King Max. All in all, one of the best Sonic animated series ever conceived, which beats the hell outta that ridiculous over-the-top kiddy Adventures of Sonic series. Your artwork here honours that beautiful DiC work with Tails being the hero in this alternate universe you've created. Not just in the clever triple pleasure of video format, from VHS to modern digital, but in the characters themselves sharing a fond moment together. One can appreciate how you've given Tails that mature, intelligent, yet humble approach to life and his apparent romance with Sally. His fashion sense honours King Max in whatever existence he may have. And gotta love the sense of fulfillment Tails and Sally share as a couple with the latter bearing offspring, an heir to the throne, who will have loving, wise parents. And despite this one's personal choice of Tails with a certain red vixen in a redeemed tangent of time, he and Sally make for a fantastic #2 choice of couples in the various forks of the river of time and alternate universes. Tails' kids are definitely bound for greatness, considering how intelligent both parents are. You really know how to take nostalgia and give it an extra dose of awesome good feeling in your artwork, Crispy. Is there nothing you can't do in artwork that honours good pop culture with your own unique tastes and appeals?

Your fake screenshots're looking very believable, some people just draw in thier style (that doesn't look like product made by dozens of animators) and put a bit of noise. Also now this characters dont look like teenagers who have babies.

Oh, I just saved it as a low quality .jpg, saturated it, isolated those staticky bits with the marquee (you know, the dotty rectangle thingy) and made horizontal smudges, added some film grain/analog static and voila! Instant 90s. Well, nearly instant...

Only question is: what method would Tails use and how would the battle play out? Like you pointed out before, Tails has a lot of ways he can wage war against robotropolis, granted it's a guerrilla war since even as smart as he is he has more limited resources. Though I want to imagine him wearing power rings around his tails for the inevitable time he has to pull himself out of a sticky situation.
It would be like Reed Richards vs Dr Doom... except Tails is too competent to be compared to Reed Richards, and Robotnik, even in SatAM, isn't on the same level as DR Doom. Does anyone else have a better comparison?

More or less Robotnik...the only time i can see the conflict becoming between Sonic and Tails is what to do with Robotnik once he's caught. Imprisonment or death...either one has reasons for the one or the other.
