Description Cloisonne - various transparent glass on silver - 52 mm (2") excluding the bail. Fired concave with clear textured glass over the butterfly's wings.

Fired yesterday on a prepared blank, it was done stream-of-conciously - just for fun.

Thanks for the fav on 'Bubblewing'. About 35 years ago I drove my florescent green VW van to Panama & back, picking up passengers along the way. I guess that makes me a chaufleur!

In brief, the wire is melted into the background glass. Then, in each wing, I packed two transparents side by side so they would blend into each other. Then I covered this with chunks of very clear low-melt glass & stopped the firing just as they started to melt. The chunks of clear glass were an after-thought: I was trying to make the wings look like they were made of rays of light, but I should have had more & thinner rays. Next time!

Hey, thanks alot. I was trying to make the wings look like rays of light. I packed the transparents side by side so they would blend into each other. This worked, but I felt I should have done more & thinner rays to get the exact effect, so I add the textured glass over top. The 'sun' enamel was 'Mandarin Orange' but it sure looks red to me.

Thanks alot. Though I've done a few earrings & rings, it's my first pendant in silver. I'm being influenced by DA.

Hehe! That's kind of neat. It does have that cute, tiny and adorable flair that I love so I can see it.
