Description cloisonne - yellow, red & green opague glass over transparent green glass on copper. Fired on a commercial switchplate. The foliage is in relief. The flower heads have a matt finish. The photo fades a bit toward the bottom. The top right corner gives the actual color & intensity.

Hey, thanks. You are right about the colors. The transparent green is truly gem-like. What I should have said is that I had some trouble with warpage. I could flatten the plate after firing the backing & after the trans. green, but with the raised-figures firing, it was not possible. I would have crushed them. Thus it is slightly warped. I'm not sure of a way around this with the combination raised cloisonne & a flat plate. I can either raise the background enamel level with the figures (classic cloisonne) or use non-wire decoration. I'll make my own plate from a heavier gauge next time.

By the way, why's it so hard to be green? I have often thought that it's a pity people didn't come in greens, blues & other interesting colors. Or is it a political statement? Then it would be sad, not hard!
