Description
After seeing the disappointing new range 'Thomas & Friends Wood', I decided to draw up pictures of what I would do if I made wooden trains. First off, redesign the engines to make them look like their television show counterparts. For the first one, we have Thomas who would be made completely out of wood, including the funnel, smokebox and the face, with the only non metal parts coming from the magnets (which are inspired by the Take-Along/Take-N-Play magnets) and the metal poles connecting one side's wheels with the other. The roof could be removed so kids can actually put in crews from the various packs. Also included would be Thomas' Driver, a single piece of curved track that's painted to look similar to railway tracks and two spare lamps that can be put on Thomas at the front. Also, since I've drawn Thomas and he's been in the show since Season 1, obviously, I decided to give him an old model train face.
The name of my fan-made company in these pictures is known as Imagination Toys, and for the Wooden trains, they'd be known as the Sodor Rail Line. The price I would give is $12 Dollars, which may seem alot, but the model and all the pieces would be made of wood.
So now, I want to hear your thoughts on what you think of this picture. Also please note that I will be drawing up more pictures like this with more engines. One thing to point out, the items are not perfectly to scale as I had alot of trouble matching the size of the track with the wheel span of Thomas' wheels, speaking of which, don't hound me for the wheels as it's not easy to draw them from that angle.
