Description
A more capable lifter than the C-130 given the size and weight of modern AFVs the C130 replacement in the form of the Quad Rotor was not enough. While not a VTOL air craft the layout of the C-25 engines allows a short take off ability with the use of upper-surface blowing it can and will take off in a shorter distance than a C-130J. Besides this an ability to hold and lift one M1A2C Abrams means that holding vehicles like the M20 Badger or even a 22nd century ECAF M-9 Lee is an easy task. Even the bloated M2A4 Bradley can be carried with ease to an air head. The downside of the aircraft's power is the four fuel hungry engines. The need for inflight refueling is an acceptable trade off for such tactical mobility. With the second cold war kicking off to a rough start the reality of an old design revisited is one such common trait for the US military often past weapons were designed while in need of more complex construction materials for the day or were unable to operate with limited computer technology in the period.
