If Skull Island and kaiju were real, how would they fit scientifically?
This imagines Kongs as a species of giant gibbons evolved from smaller gibbons who were on the island. They became gigantic omnivores, something like bears, who stay on the land by walking on their feet and fists.
Their ape feet have become like broad human hands, and their hands have calloused sharp knuckles that are almost like knuckle-spikes. They use these like cleats, or to fight. Females have huge tusks that stick out their mouths like elephant tusks, but males have fang-like tusks for fighting. Their huge swiveling ears help them cool down in the heat of Skull Island, and this is why they are almost hairless.
Males have dark grey skin and white hair, while females have red manes down their back and black skin, for helping to stay cool. Males are slightly smaller, but much more vicious, agile, and almost always walk on all fours, with armored belly skin and chest skin.
Females can walk on two legs or four with ease, and stand on two legs to reach high into branches or watch out for dangerous dinosaurs.
King Kong himself would be a male with a mutation - born with denser skin, and more joints, he barely reacts to pain, is twice as strong as the normal Kong, and his high hormone levels have boosted the density of his armored skin areas to even tougher hide.
