Description
Striped Kangaroo-Warg
Scientific name: Cynomacropus lagopod
Other names: none
Ancestor: Antarctic fur-seal
Diet: Small vertebrates, eggs, shrubs, berries, carrion
Habitat and range: Northwest-Antarctic scrubland
Compared to the Red-headed Yellow-bellied Kangaroo Warg, there isn't much to say about the Striped Kangaroo Warg. The things that truly separate the two are distribution and color. While the Red-headed Yellow-bellied Kangaroo Warg lives in the dry rainshadow East of the Lorga Thuon, the Striped Kangaroo Warg lives on the other side of the continent, in the more Northern altitudes West of that great mountain range. While the western half of the continent is generally wetter, there is a large ridge to the Northwest that creates a relatively smaller dry spot, and the animals that live there are more similar and closer related to the animals in the humid West than the arid East. Honestly, the main reason this animal is being displayed at all is to give a clearer picture of the locomotion of the Kangaroo-wargs.
