When a predator looks you right in the eyes the way this beauty does.....it should tell you something. Apparently I was blocking his view which annoyed him Big Time and his loud roaring should have ringed a bell.But I only understood it until he took a run-up, jumped in the water that was supposed to separate tigers from humans and approached me at only half a meter, with only a small grid in between us.
My heart never beat so fast and I never jumped so high.
Believe me..such a huge predator coming at you this way.....you'll never forget.

They use water to separate the tigers from the humans?! Really? lol I'm sorry, but I can't see how that would help... tigers LOVE water; what's gonna stop them from swimming across it to get to the people? You'd think that the zoo keepers would know better.

Oh, really? Well, that's good... although, a tiger might be able to jump the fence... it depends on how high it is, I guess, but I've seen some tigers that were pretty good jumpers. lol

I've had some similar experiences, the worst was with a chimpanzee ([link] ) He ran and jumped with arms spread and teeth bared and looked me right in the eye. He fell harmlessly (for both of us) 12 ft into the moat when he was about 4 feet from me. So I can definitely appreciate this photo!

First of all this is a really good picture. However, I feel that I should mention a few factoids. I recently went to a sanctuary that educates the public about tigers, and they said they are no wild white tigers in existance, because one they have been cross bred for so long, that that their are no true siberians, and two the gene is so rare it only occurs in one of every ten thousand....very sad, because they are one of my favorite living creatures. Also, it appears that while many beleive they can't exist in the wild, because of their colouring, its is not their hunting that is hindered, it is us hunting them for their skins that is causing their essential extinction.
