This is great work! I love the composition; how the tree cuts through the middle of the picture is really visually interesting. The glare of the light at the top is a little distracting from the rest of the picture, however.

I personally like the lighting in this picture, it kind of draws your eye towards the boy and the split tree. The tree looks so sad and the boy looks intense. I love the way your pictures always tell a story! To me, it seems like he lost a beloved climbing tree or tree-house. I felt that way when my parents had to get rid of my old swingset...

i didn't see him at first *embarrassed* i feel silly now. hes pose is amazin, its deep, and he has an intense look upon his face. i like the brightness of the light behind and i think it add a blinding affect to the dark,sensual, photo.
i think u captured this moment well. if it was me, it's treasure that mooment for ever.

Ah, I like the black and white a lot. It makes the shadows of the trees look neat.. hm, you know, the little spots on the ground where the sun's hitting it.. And, I suppose the caption is true.. But I'm not sure I like being reminded of things I once had.. While most people can look back on happy times and be glad they experienced them, I just miss them and wish I could get them back.. But anyways, very lovely photograph.

aw thank you! yes, there are some moments that i wish i could live again, but i'm one of those people that would rather have a memory of something than nothing at all. i guess it just varies for everyone. but thanks for the insightful comment dear!

I don't know yet if I really really like the affect the light has on the picture, or really really dislike it. It seems to fall in a pleasant median for me. The person and the trees are very interesting, the title fits, and the black and white/old feel compliments it. Good job.
