This post was initially used as an entry for a contest held by the lovely The-WinterRose and Bcpupu I may not have been even close to having won, but it was fun to do something different regardless. This character in particular character belongs to The-WinterRose

I decided to draw this character for the same reason I would draw any character - because of the character design. I've always had a soft spot for the tough girl character archetype, even if it's more than a little cliche at this point. After I saw the horns, tail, teeth, and ears, Astrid's design reminded me a lot of Etna from the Disgaea series of games, but filtered through the lens of a Tales of Symphonia character. I say Tales of Symphonia because I haven't played many games in that series, and Astrid looks like she'd fit right in with that cast of characters.
