Description
EDIT thanks to =Vjorgen on tips to take blurriness away ;u; Better, less blurry image now. This was a vent piece to practice my pen-and-pencil art style once again. Except this time I resolved to work hard on a good background. I hope it works well together!
The character displayed is my wolf fursona, Thunder. I love to watch storms raging in the sky, and it's literally been storming all week this week so I was inspired to finish this inked drawing. C:
Thunder has the ability to call storms from the skies, and she can even enter the storm formation and create lightning/thunder, whipping the storm into a rage. Also, rather than give her the normal black-and-blue wings she has, I gave her cloud wings in this one just...for experimentation's sake.
I really like how it came out, despite its mistakes.
Please comment and critique, thank you! ~

I saw this and my breath caught in my throat. I knew I had to write a critique for this. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/l/l⦠" width="19" height="19" alt="
" title="La la la la"/>
First off, blurry photo aside, the overall image, first impact, goes along the lines of, "Oh, that is awesome..." It looks powerful, moving, and the character seems to be at one with the raging storm. In one word: powerful.
The technique is gorgeous, the simplicity of the fur style gives the opposite effect, very detailed. It works with the background very well, so that neither one takes any attention away from the other.
The only thing I would like to point out is the visible foreleg and paw. It looks as if at that angle, you should be able to see another toe, but to the honest, the way the joint bends looks unnatural. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/x/x⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
" title="XD"/> If the leg is going to be in that direction, I think the paw should be at more of a side view. If you want more of the paw/toes to be shown, I would change the angle of the overall leg, so that it was turned more toward the viewer.
Overall, this is a gorgeous piece. Great job!

I am not really qualified to do a critique. But I love this piece. I think your pencil technique is very good. Colored pencil are a hard medium to work in at least for me anyway. The background is striking and works very well. Composition and flow of line is terrific. Keep up the good work

Thank you very much! I was worried the background was too distracting from the center of focus, but it seems to work well in the end. ^^
Thanks for commenting, too. C:

Looks very nice! c:
I can't access the scanner always, so have to use the camera as well. I suggest taking photos under a very strong light, like next to a lamp - will be much sharper without the motion blur!
