Description
When Rani was just a young cub around the age where she knew what was right from wrong but her curiosity would always get the better of her. She was taking an arctic fox cub back to his mother in the Snow Lands. Rani had never been to this part of the kingdom before but her father had always said she must never venter into this "cold wasteland" as he called it. Rani had no idea why but she had to get this little guy home. He had told Rani that his mother and siblings lived under a very sheltered and tall pine tree Rani had asked the young fox what the tree had looked like and he described it as the tallest tree in the forest. That just made Rani's job even harder all the trees looked the same and at the pace she was going it would eventually be discovered that she was missing. But Rani would worry about that later. Right now the arctic fox cub was all that mattered. Rani wasn’t aware but a figure who had been following her for quite some miles back had been following her from above. Bright purple eyes followed Rani's stealth form as she looked under every tree for a nest of sorts. Luckily for her he happened to know exactly what tree the arctic fox lived under.

It was starting to get hard to see and Rani had to keep turning her head so snow wasn't getting in her eyes. As Rani looked ahead again she could see a figure in the distance purple eyes illuminating from the depths of the wild blizzard. The figure began to approach Rani as she looks ahead she sees a silver lion cub around her age has approached her. He smiled down at her as she looks up from seeing if the arctic fox cub was alright.

???: "Are you lost?"

Rani: "Actually yes. I've been walking around for ages trying to find this little guy's home. He says he lives under a big pine tree do you happen to know where that might be?"

???: "Yes... I do actually know exactly where a family of arctic foxes live. Let me show you."

Rani: “Thank you so much! Um… By the way what is your name?”

???: “Oh where are my manners? You may call me Vihar.”

Rani: “Well thank you, Vihar. You’d be saving me a lot of trouble by escorting me. I’m actually not supposed to be here right now but this little guy was lost and I decided to help him find his way.”

Vihar: “I’m very happy to help you two in anyway I can.”

Vihar beckoned for Rani to follow him and she did. As Rani couldn’t help but stare Vihar kept looking back at her still showing a friendly smile to the crown princess of the Tree of Life.

Rani: “I don’t mean to pry but what is a lion such as yourself doing out here in this cold wilderness?”

Vihar: “Haven’t you ever heard of my kind before?”

Rani only shakes her head and Vihar begins to explain more about his specific breed of lion to her.

Vihar: “We’re called snow lions we’re a specialized kind of lion meant to survive in harsh cold climates like this. See how thick my fur is?” He showed off his hide as Rani got a closer look at how thick his pelt was. “It’s so that I stay warm when I’m out hunting with my pride.”

Rani: “You must be able to find your way around well with such thick and long fur to keep you warm.”

Even his polar bear white tuft of mane looked about the length of that of a full grown lion mane. Imagine what males his kind looked like as adults. Rani was amazed as she imagined what a great big snow lion looked like.

Vihar: “Your complements flatter me, Rani. I’ve never met another lioness quite like you before.”

Rani: “Oh it’s not a big deal. I’m just impressed that lions can even survive out here.”

Vihar only chuckles at Rani’s comment.

Vihar: “My pride and I ado our best to try and survive in the best way possible.”

Rani and Vihar continued to trek on and on getting to know each other and learning about each other’s lives and prides.

As they reached the tallest pine tree Vihar had decided to take the little arctic fox cub back to his nest. As Vihar lifted the lowest branch and out of Rani’s sight the young fox let out a small whimper.

Arctic Fox Cub: “T-That’s not my nest… it’s a nest of wo-YIPE!!”

Before the young fox could finish what he had to say Vihar kicked him in the chest. Sending him tumbling down until not sound could be heard. Vihar took this chance to slink away and back to Rani’s side.

Vihar: “Stupid fool… Shouldn’t have left the safety of mommy dearest until he was old enough.”

Rani: “Everything go okay?”

Vihar: “Hm? Oh yes! The fox cub is safe and sound back with his siblings and his mother wanted me to personally thank you for finding her son.”

Rani: “Well I’m glad he’s back where he belongs.”

Vihar: “Shall I escort you to the edge of your territory?”

Rani: “I’d like that, Vihar. You’d be doing me a great service.”

Vihar: “I’m happy to help anyone in need.”

As he let Rani walk in front of him Vihar glanced over his shoulder at the tall tree he smirked gleefully as he swished his tail over Rani’s shoulder.

Meanwhile back under the pine tree the little fox was best to scramble out of the next he was kicked into by that awful snow lion cub. He could hear a faint snarl from behind him turning around and whimpering with one little paw raised in the air he saw two bright golden eyes staring back at him and five little hungry mouths staring directly at him.

Whining with desperation he turned around trying to escape but he only ended up sliding back down. The face of the mother was right in his own face now snarling the mother wolf began the attack on the poor unfortunate little arctic fox…”

Rani: “Did you hear that Vihar?”

Vihar: “Oh it’s probably a wolf pack bringing down a reindeer. Even they need to eat as well.”

Rani: “I know what that’s like.”

The two lion cubs continued to trek back each smiling at their new friend. Hoping this new found friendship today will likely someday blossom into something much more beautiful.
