Just a reminder that this is just a fun little story that was my idea alone and doesn't affect neither or ideas for their stories in any way shape or form.

It had been about a couple of months since Nya was accepted into the Tree of Life as a resident of this ancient and peaceful land. It didn't take long for Nya to get settled in with her new adopted family ever since Nya's real mother completed her journey in the circle of life she had been wandering alone finding what she could to eat along her path since she didn't know how to hunt properly at that time but now that she was living at the tree Nya knew how to hunt somewhat at least. Her new adopted mother, Nirmala taught her all her special traits she used while on the hunt while Surak taught his new daughter the basics a cub her age should know to take down a small morsal for his or herself at Nya's age. That was something else Nya was getting used to having a father in her life she never knew her biological father all she knew about him is that he was a tiger and tigers where normally known to live their lives as solitary animals but if she somehow to happen to stumble upon him someday she would certainly like to at least know what kind of tiger he was like in the meanwhile Surak had come to accept Nya as one of his own. He was a lion of great wisdom with a calm personality and has always been known to think before he acts. Nya liked that in a father and she wouldn't ask for a better one. As time went on Nya got along well with her new liger friend, Baraka he explained his story about how he came to the Tree of Life according to King Kion Baraka's biological parents had been killed by a very bad lion. Baraka had almost come to share the same fate as his birth parents but thankfully King Kion had come to his rescue just in the nick of time. Yes... Baraka and Nya did share so much in common from both being hybrids to losing their parents at such an early age to both being adopted into two loving family's who loved them for who they both are that everybody around them could see that one day the two of them could become more then just best friends but that was another story for a much LATER time.

Nya and Baraka where heading back to the tree to grab some lunch and just as they where about to turn a corner and there standing by the lake was Penda the honey badger, son of Bunga and Binga. The purple honey badger was bent over looking at his reflection and he seemed to grooming his white fur into some sort of neat and tidy way and was making sure it was just right. Nya and Baraka stopped a short distance away as Baraka called out a friendly hello to the busy badger.

Baraka: "Hey Penda! You look "nice"." He tried not to chuckle as Penda looked absolutely goofy the way his top fur looked. "Are you going somewhere?"

Penda: "Howdy Baraka! Sup Nya! I've got a date in awhile."

Nya looked shocked beyond belief when Penda said this and she wasn't alone either Baraka also seemed to share her exact thought "Someone is dating Penda?!" but Penda didn't seem to notice as he finished grooming his back side with his claws.

Nya: "So... Penda, whose the lucky girl?"

Penda: "Her name's Halyn and she's new to the Tree of Life I gotta tell ya both she's Pendawesome. We certainly have a lot in common." Sniffing his underarms he let out a satisfying sigh. "Yeah extra stinky she'll love that."

Nya made a sour face and covered her nose with her paw tears streaming down her face at the unbearable smell green stink trailing behind the honey badger as he walked past the two hybrid cubs meanwhile Baraka turned away and coughed until he was rasping at the horrible smell.

Nya: "She's a lucky girl that she appreciates your stink Penda."

Penda: "She's certainly one of the best. Anyway don't wanna be late. I'll see you both later."

Baraka: "Yeah... See you later Penda."

As soon as Penda was gone and Nya and Baraka where alone once again the two cubs let out deep gasps for sweet fresh air. Nya looks at the honey badger now a tiny figure in the distance as she looks at him with a bizarre look in her teal eyes.

Nya: "Is he always like this?"

Baraka: "Heh! You don't even know the half of it."

Nya: "Well what a lucky honey badger this Halyn is to be dating Penda."

Baraka: "You know how honey badgers are!"

Nya: "If she's anything like Binga then she'll fit right in with Penda's family!"

Baraka: "Yeah! Bunga and Binga will love her."

Nya: "Now come on lets go back to the tree I'm starving!"

Baraka: "Same race you back?"

Nya: "Challenge accepted."


If only they knew that Halyn wasn't another honey badger but in fact she was a skunk but that's a story for another time.

All characters I used today are not mine but I have permission from both of their creators to use them in my stories just as they have my permission to use my characters in their own stories. Penda, Halyn, and Banya all belong to while Nya belongs to and finally Baraka belongs to both & .
