"IT'S MORPHIN TIME! JUNGLE BEAST, SPIRIT UNLEASHED! SPIRIT OF THE MANTIS, JUNGLE FURY MANTIS RANGER!!!!"

Ever since did the Proto Ranger concept {originally created by } it got my mind thinking, "What if a Pai Zhuq {Order of the Claw} student were to infuse their animal spirit into a blank Power Coin?"

It's not as farfetched as you may think. Ninjor in season 3 created the Ninjetti coins from the Rangers animal spirits and taught them to use the power of their animal spirits in battle. Jungle Fury's Pai Zhuq teachings in that regard are very similar to Ninjor and his Ninjetti teachings. Hell the Pai Zhuq and the Ninja Storm Ninja academies may in fact be based on Ninjor's teachings, but that's just some theorizing and head canon on my part. This is originally based in my Thunderverse continuity but it can fit in the canon continuity.

Ninjor has recently created a blank Power Coin and is carrying it with him on his Flying Nimbus along with a single Power Morpher to find some inspiration for a new power set. He's attacked by Tengo Warriors, sent by an unnamed villain to steal the coin and deliver it to their master. During the fight Ninjor drops the coin and morpher and the Tengos, being the bird brains they are, can't get out of their own way to get it. It lands in the academy where a new student the whom has yet to awaken his Animal Spirit finds it.

Seeing this and knowing it must be important to the Rangers {Power Rangers is after all printed in bold letters on the front} he takes it to Master Casey and after discussing it with him allows him to keep the Morpher for the time being. When not training at the academy, this student uses this generic power set to fight crime and generally help people. After a few months on top of years of Martial Arts Training outside the order, he is finally able to tap into the power of his Animal Spirit. During a training session the Academy is attacked by a Monster with a large number of Tengos to back it up. While Casey, Jarrod and Camille running around trying to save students the monster goes right for the student with the Power Morpher.

The student Morphs and tries to defend himself but even with the generic power set he's no match for the monster. It's at this moment he starts tapping into his animal spirit, the Spirit of the Mantis, to try to boost his odds. Although a novice at doing so, he is able to tap into more and more of that power and combine it with his generic Ranger ones, Using the two together strengthens his coin and binds it to his Animal Spirit. This causes the coin to become the Emerald Mantis Coin and the student's ranger form changes with it. With these powers he's able to destroy the monster right Casey, Jarrod and Camille run over just to see the student land the final blow.

Casey calls RJ and gets the team back together. After nearly a year of fighting the new villain and his minions Ninjor finally finds them and is rather impressed that this student was able to imprint his Animal Spirit onto the blank Power Coin. He decides to stay at the academy for awhile and teach them the Ninjetti arts. With Ninjor's training Casey, Lilly and Theo are able to unlock armored versions of their Jungle Master Modes, while RJ, Dominic and the Student achieve Jungle Master Mode and Jarrod and Camille get their own upgrades. Fran who was a civilian unlocks her animal spirit, which to her relief is a Owl. {She was afraid she'd get a pillbug or an armadillo, something horrifying.}

With help from Ninjor, the Pai Zhuq Masters, their respective Spirit Rangers and a surprise appearance by Tommy in his White Ranger form and using the Falconzord they defeat this new threat. Ninjor allows the student to keep the Morpher and was happy to help the Rangers again after so many years. He's also happy to see Tommy again and is glad he still remembers what he taught the Rangers years ago. After a few goodbyes Ninjor returns to the Temple of power, on the way seeing a Red Hawk as he flies by. This gives him inspiration to create a new power coin, The Crimson Hawk Coin.

So the first form is the Proto Ranger concept by lightly modified to my liking. The second is that as a base and further edited using sprites by 's Zyuranger and Gekiranger sprites with AkaRed used for the cowl, while the eyes are from Kamen Rider OOO. The third one is modified even more using some of :'s Jungle Master Mode sprites as a basis to do so.
