Greetings fellow deviants. Allthough this artwork is not finished I wanted to post it because I have suffered an accident and wont be able to draw for a little while.
I hope you like this alternative version, I got inspired from the story of "The Man in the High Castle" and wanted to depict something like this storyline in the RWBY WW2 Universe.

I like this picture.Β It really shows that this RWBY WW2 is different than the actual WW2.Β You really get a sense that this is America's darkest hour.Β The Nazis have managed to land an army on American shores and are burning American cities.Β It kind of reminds me of Uber: Invasion, where the Nazis managed to land an superhuman army on the East Coast which proceeded to destroy Washington D.C., Boston, and New York City until finally stopped by the atom bomb.

Battle of New York City will be the bloodiest battle for the Wehrmacht. It will be the Stalingrad of the North America. One, it is a giant metropolitan area with a lot of built up area, that means every building would be a fortress. Second, it is located in a mouth of two rivers. That means it will be hard to get from one part of the city to another with the bridges and tunnels being ferociously contested. Third, the New York City is located not that far from the US Naval Base in Norfolk and the Royal Canadian Navy Base in Halifax, that means the Kriegsmarine was in trouble from attacks from the north and the south. Fourth is the distance NYC is from Europe.

Exactly. All the US would have to do is hold the line, and hold on until the Wehrmacht's supplies ran out. The Royal Navy could also blockade Europe.

Not as bad but they will not be so kind especially when one of their own cities, and an iconic one was badly damaged from the battle. More so if the Statue of Liberty was destroyed.

Oh, no doubt. I imagine the first thing the US would do is make sure no fighting gets near the statue. Pretty easy, considering it's on an island, with no strategic value. oF COURSE, THEY WOULDN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT AERIAL BOMBING, JUST ARTILLERY.

Honestly, the Germans wouldn't have gotten a fleet past the British. They had virtually no ships capable of such a trip, and the RAF could reach much further than the Luftwaffe. Plus, they Brits had carriers.

Exactly. Meanwhile, you'd have all of New York to deal with. Fighting in a city is bad enough for the attackers, e.g. Stalingrad, but a city of skyscrapers is even worse.

Very true. Basically, it's the absolute worst place to have to invade. Also, because of the height and closeness of the buildings, even if you had air support, they wouldn't be able to descend too low, so their bombing etc would be greatly reduced in accuracy. Plus, their bomb runs would be predictable, easy prey for AAA.

Yes and advancing will be murderous especially given how the roads are built, those grids will make allow a few guys to hold off any attacks. In theory, one US Infantry division can hold Manhattan very easily.

I did not know that. Very interesting. Just learned that they used to have bunkers able to hold over 110% of the total population, and bridges etc were actually designed with explosive demolition in case of invasion as a requirement.

ThyBlake just explained in the description that this is inspired by The Man in the High Castle, which is an alternate universe where the Axis powers have won. Germany and Italy have taken over Europe and the Americas while Japan has taken over Asia and other areas in the Pacific.
