It was supposed to be simple. But then, nothing ever is.
From the moment I first laid eyes on Leutnant Cinder Fall, I knew she was gonna be trouble. As Salem's favorite lackey in the SS, she's very thorough in sniffing out treachery and subversion. And it doesn't take a genius to realize that she's suspected me from the beginning. She's been monitoring me, watching my every move, making sure I stay loyal. She's good. I have to be better.
As if she's not enough, I'm also being hunted by the Allies for my "betrayal." One of them is my own daughter. I knew what this mission would entail when I took it, but that doesn't make it any easier. I don't know if they'll ever let me back in. I don't know if my daughter will hate me forever. But I do this for her sake. For the sake of the world.
I can't afford to show sympathy. One wrong move and I'm a dead woman. Cinder'll catch on if I'm not as careful as I can possibly be. Here she is now, about to execute this poor kraut trooper for refusing to shoot a civilian or some such. She's been blocking my every move, and I can't afford to have her blow my cover. After she finishes with this guy, I'll make my play. I don't know if this'll make my job any easier, but one thing's for sure.
For my mission to succeed, Cinder Fall must die.
