Description This is the literal definition of Captivity. You cannot love something AND support enslaving it.  Ive done my research.

I do not take credit for the photo, but the editing (caption) of it is me.

Factory farms and puppy mill are far worse then zoos or aquariums.

Factory farms and puppy mills are very bad, but many zoos, aquariums, and seaworld are basically mills for those animals. Some aquariums and zoos are very good however.

So horrible if they really loved there orca's they would release them

i understand that a lot of them have been born in captivity but they still have a wild instinct inside of them

Orca's are NOT Domesticated Pets like cats or dogs

Thank you! People use the excuse that they were born in captivity and cannot be released, but that isn't true. It is not like releasing a dog to a wolf pack. They are not domestic pets. All they need is to be taught the proper skills to survive in the wild.

Very true! i agree

Orca's are Intelligent enough to go back into the wild and meet up with there family! it's cruel that they need to preform stupid tricks to get a small hand full of fish it makes me sick

I must say how much of a difference it is to see a pic of an orca with out some cheesy tagline supporting or bigging up seaworld. I have never understood how anyone can look at such a huge and beautiful creature in such a tiny tank and think 'yeh, happy'.

Same. Some supporter of anti-blackfish movements posted on Facebook and said something about without sea world we would know nothing about them, probably wouldn't even have heard of them, and they are so much healthier and happier in captivity. I think their post gave me cancer -_-

Mmm I'm surprised that it didn't kill you... Im amazed that they think that if an animal is not in a zoo then we won't know anything about it. They do say that ignorance is bliss!

Maybe for them, but not for the animals

You know, this is so true; and at the same time ironic. I had actually watched something called BlackFish last night.

It showed "never before" seen footage of whales being injured and trainers being injured and even killed at SeaWorld.

Not only did I hate seeing people die; I hated seeing whales die because of humans lack of intelligence.

Why make money off of such beautiful creatures? They deserve to be free; not kept in captivity.

And what's worse? People can't file lawsuits against them because of their power of these animals.

Why? Because they make so much money using them for shows and such they can just pay their way out of trouble.

And lie about what they do by covering up the truth. They claim they're doing nothing wrong. But seriously?

Let's be honest here; they could care less about the well being of the whales. As long as their making money, they're happy.

The whales are used to swimming for miles at a time, not in circles. Oh and they're called "killer" whales for a reason.

They're beautiful, but they're also dangerous. Just like lions or tigers. Bears even.

Yet humans stupidity leads them to think they can tame anything.

I agree completely, the videos of the accidents were necessary. It doesn't sink in for people until they see something like that, and it hit me too. Thanks for your interest. Ive seen Blackfish too, on top of other research.

Get this, SeaWorld made a video and claims that it's all propaganda and not a documentary.

Here's the page with videos and other "facts" about them. Trying to get their "good name" back by being all sweet.

Its all proven so I don't know how people buy it when Seaworld says it isn't fact. They even cheated on polls about captivity, guilty much?

kaiichuuu In reply to Thylacinus1 [2014-02-17 07:42:37 +0000 UTC]

Exactly. They're just trying to save their own skins by covering up what's already pretty plain and simple.

Have you seen the documentary "Blackfish"? It's incredible.

Also, did you know that about a month ago, Journey was supposed to perform at SeaWorld. But when they saw this documentary they decided against it.

This documentary made me cry, and it made me angry. Watch it.

Many artists dropped out after Blackfish showed. I saw it, but I did a lot of other research too. Ive only been to Seaworld once, and it will be my only time. The thing I noticed was the rake scars on their bull, so bad I thought polar bear at first.

But if we have no aminal in captive then how we make gloo? We need horse to make good gloo.

Thylacinus1 In reply to 7oErp23 [2014-02-17 06:55:14 +0000 UTC]

Horses are domesticated animals, not wild animals that belong in nature. Domestic animals need us and are happy healthy and belong with us. And Im pretty sure most glue isn't made with horses anymore.

Alright then. I think they have found better ways to make it, with chemicals and such, I could look it up if you are interested. Im fairly sure it is mostly chemicals now, but some brands may still use horse hooves.
