Description
In H.P Lovecraft's "At the Mountains of Madness," the Old Ones were plant-like lifeforms that arrived on Earth shortly after the surface cooled and created a civilization on both land and under the sea that fought wars against invading fungi-crustacean Mi-Go, Spawn of Cthulhu, and their own creations, the Shoggoths, before being pushed south to Antarctica where their last great city has lain in desolate ruin, partially buried in the ice, for millions of years. In the story, explorers from the 1930-31 Miskatonic Expedition discover what they think are the dead remains of the Old Ones and proceed to examine and dissect them. As they thaw, the intact specimens return to life and, probably in self defense, kill every man and dog in the camp. When another part of the expedition team arrives at the site, they find that the Old Ones have dissected one man and one dog. This is a drawing I did the other day for my blog post all about the Old Ones, which can be seen here: kurt-komoda.blogspot.com/2016/…Original 11 x 14" drawing for sale: $250!

Well, I figured Lake would have brought books on biology, not human anatomy. I dunno.

Thanks, everyone!
The original idea was to show another Old One dissecting, or having dissected, a dog. I drew this in a bit of a rush and, well, realized there was no room in the drawing to put that. Probably should have sketched this out first.
Working on the Mi-Go, now.

I'm not sure that the tent would be that big, with a big wooden tent pole like that...but maybe. I was looking at tent photographs circa 1930's.
