I'm siding more with Shantae but if at least two of these characters got into the game I'd be happy.

No, Bayonetta was announced as the winner of the smash ballot fair and square.
Yes, we ALL have fighters we wanted to see win, but there was always the chance
that we wouldn't get what we wanted. There's no reason to be sore over it, and
besides, bayonetta was actually a pretty good addition to the roster and seems to
have been pretty well accepted.

K. Rool still has a chance though the Mii outfit is a worst case scenario for fans. Having a Mii outfit doesn't mean he's out of the ballot. It's not like being in Smash as a stage hazard or an assist trophy or maybe a stage cameo like with Toon Link in Spirit Train.

He's got a chance sure but I think adding him along with Chrom and Lloyd as costumes is just a love letter to high ranking characters in the ballot that didn't quite make the cut. But hey it could happen...Maybe.

Probably. Like I said, worst case scenario: they appear only as costumes. But like you said it's more of a love letter or consolation prize to fans who voted for them but couldn't get in. Same goes for Zero, Inkling, Heihachi and others. And if this is as far as they get, I'll be fine.
