How do you get the small furs on the face of a wolf/fox/cat what ever the case may be, I am having troubles with the facial fur xD

I also would love tips on how to do this with multi colored characters ( I really want to be able to do this with mainly my 2 characters 1 is new the other is older, both have different styles of coloring)

Tsuki has blended colors and solid markigns as were my other one has solid markings, however both have slightly unusual colors and I found this didnt really work for it.

Tsuki is Blues and purple and blacks as were my other one id love to learn to do this with is light browns pinky/orange/beige and kind of creamy colored >.< Im sorry for the questions, I love this tutorial, I used it and here was my end product which the colors turned out nothing like I had intended for them.
the face turned out a little to smooth and the colors are all off and you cant see the change in 3 or 4 of them I would adore some tips on how to do this with multiple colors and the face/ears.
LOVE YOUR TUTORIAL IT JUST MADE MY ART LEVEL IMPROVE IN ONE HUGE JUMP THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

I would make the base layer just one color - then do the multiply layer for texture so it is easy to see.  Then, once the texture layer is complete, put a new layer under the texture layer and start building up your markings in a way that they match the direction of the fur.  I hope this helps!

Sorry I am so late to reply, I don't really use deviantart much!

With shorter fur around the face, I don't have the multiply/texture layer as dark in that particular area.  So I would lay down my main dark color on my multiply layer and then lighten up the short furred areas before getting into doing the textures with an (even) lighter brush.  I hope that makes sense! <3
