Prancing around on the beach on a sunny day. Having fun. Lalala.I just felt like combining two innocent Sonic characters with a dark and angsty one that is Shadow.
Inspiration music: "Pure Again" - Ending song of "Breath of Fire 3"

Cream: Come on Mr Shadow. Let's go make some sand castles!
Tails: Yeah! Don't be such a miserable guts all your life!
Shadow: I remember making sandcastles with Maria....
Tails: Oh God here we go...

The coloring here really brings out the innocence of all the characters...except for Shadow. Maybe, possibly, you could have drawn Shadow with the ground beneath him more evil, like there was a dark forest near the cute innocnet beach. That symbolizes something at least. *shrug* Anyway, awesome job. Very cute.

I almost want to say that Shadow seems to have been forced to baby-sit them, my key piece of evidence being his open mouth, looking stern at Cream and Tails--as if he were scolding them for running too fast, warning them not to wander out of his sight. All too often Shadow seems to find himself in the situation of the unlikely and unwilling protector of the innocent; it really adds reasonance to his character, I think. Any-dang-way, all that has been brought out excellently here. Might I ask how you drew it? The colors, for one thing, seem softer and more genial, like pastels, which is spot on with the tone of the piece. The chalkiness of the waves is a nice touch also

I have to say than like me the idea... 2 inocent childs with a tormented character like Shadow. Altought you say than you can't do the background like the TLoZ: Wind Waker looks better in that way for me... when I see the waves looks like a was made with Crayons, that gives the feeling than the Background was painted by a little kid (I hope which that don't bother you... I'm don't saying than the BG is wrong)... that give a feeling of Infantile innocence infantile innocence.
Anyway is funny the face of Shadow, it seem that he was saying: "I don't want go!"
Really like me this deviation, specially for the For the simplicity that this drawing has... Good Job!

This is the last thing I'd ever expect Shadow to do but it works. The guys needs a break and sometimes kids can be good for that. Taking it easy and having some fun is always good for the soul.
