Obviously humans aren't my forte, but I think it still serves its purpose.

And the lines that are used to place the nose are used for the sides of the muzzle too, right?
Or do you just draw lines going outwards from the ends of the yes?

That might be a good guideline to keep you muzzle straight, but the exact lines for the muzzle are going to depend on it's shape, and probably a bit on the perspective too. A muzzle that slopes downward like a tiger, for instance, isn't really going to use those lines as much (it should probably have lines of it's own). And a thinner, tapered muzzle will end up thinner than the eyes. So it's a bit of yes and a bit of no; I think it's the sort of thing where references, observation, and experimentation is going to be more helpful than this sort of tutorial.
