I saw a comment about submitting to Instagram, and I wanted to add my own two cents to it! For submitting art to Instagram you can do it through Google Chrome. Right-click the Instagram website while you're logged onto it, go to the Inspect drop-down. Once you click it, it'll pop up with some HTML code window and a tinier version of the website, ignore that. There is a button in the corner for easier use to switch between, but there's a more controlled way of doing it. Look up to the top left corner and click on the Responsive drop down bar. From there choose which phone type you want the program to be running on. Exit out of the inspector once done, refresh the page, and, VIOLA!You can submit files from your computer onto Instagram using whatever phone version suits you best! I will say it's harder to edit on Instagram on the computer, along with managing your story, but it gets the job done!

There's a new site in the works.
Are you freaking out about Eclipse? Check this outWe're all freaked out by Eclipse. Or, at least the majority of us are. This is our home, we have burrowed roots here that span over a decade for some, and we have amassed our watcherbase with painstaking effort! We've earned out badges and uploaded hundreds of our deviations and put so much effort into our groups! We've forged meaningful connections and found a network of friends here, a place of support and encouragement. But for some, Eclipse is a dealbreaker. It ruins dA. Yet, we need our community, we can't lose each other. Right?
This is not another rant journal or petition.
This is action. We are doing something about it.
So, we are making a new art site. It isn't as good as dA, it's better. It's hella better. We are talking about the features we've all dreamed of, what we've always asked for but never been heard by dA staff about. We're talking about everything we all want to keep, but so much more. Does anyone know if Group Pages are going to still be around in Eclipse? I'm a bit worried that they aren't because even in Eclipse, they don't look different. They might get scrapped all together and I run a community on a dA group page. If anyone knows the answer to this, that would be great!

I can post images in instagram from PC too but I hate this cite cause of 0% feedback and only squared pictures. Tags are not useful. I don't know what to do, becoming popular is unreally hard! t_t I have not so bad level but I am so sad thinking about feedback.

In short : less options but more clicks, too heavy for low connexion and cheap computers, a huge waste of space, a INYOURFACE and not user-friendly UI, no pagination, horizontal folders (like discount sites, yay !), no more birth date, no more @ or :icon: + nickname, no more customization, no way to disable "like" notifications...

Also, another con for Instagram: they have an algorithm that only allows for ten percent of your followers to see your posts, which in the long run, doesn't do well for you as an artist and makes it EXTREMELY hard to build an audience. I know this for a fact because I've been stuck between 2,000-2,999 followers for around two years now and it sucks BIG TIME.

People, you don't have to use DeviantArt Eclipse.
If what this person claims that Eclipse is hard for artists, then learn or don't use that version. Simple really.
I feel if someone says, "find something better than here" (no matter what site they're on) they are being rude to the site itself and making them lose customers.
Granted this really isn't the site for literature, but I'm both here and on many others.

Problem: The reason we're all moving away is because the clunky new site design is being forced on us in late may, meaning we won't have the option to NOT. That's why we're all looking for alternatives. And making them 'lose customers' is kind of the point for a lot of us? I spent money on core and they took away nearly every single reason to buy it in the first place, making it essentially worthless. Not to mention we've tried politely pointing out to the devs how to fix the new site design and make us all happy, and whilst claiming that they were listening, continued to do the exact opposite of what the entire community was trying to warn them of. So a lot of us have kind of resorted to being loud and obnoxious about it.

I have a solution for desktop posting on insta!
all you have to do is right-click and press inspect, next there's a button next to the elements tab, it's an icon that kinda looks like a phone and a tablet.
click on the icon and then refresh the page
your page should now look like this, and you can post :> hope this helps!
( to get back to the desktop page just click on the icon again and refresh )

Amino is also full of character and art theft depending on where you go- loads of impersonators. be careful if youd switch there Edit: however, its way easier to get your art known on Amino

one MAJOR thing that i feel is missing tough : how well can you navigate each and every one of these sites without an account?
i feel like this would be the absolute minimum.
i know for a fact that instagram is not navigable without an account.
i also know that twitter is notorious of making it impossible to navigate too far back. you usually cannot scroll back past 2 years (it all depends on the amount of tweets) and it is impossible for people to see "media only" on twitter with the new interface if they do not have an account, making finding art utterly impossible.
its a good SOCIAL account but a lousy ART account.
the trick is to have both with a link to an actual art gallery in the profile. unfortunate that half the artists do not do that.
anyway, one Pro for furaffinity : you can make albums for images
for literature (lots of people ask that)
furaffinity also has a similar system as deviantart to upload stories.
all stories are welcomed.
you can give a custom icon to your story
you have an author comment for all the rest : links, discussion, making of, etc.
sure AO3 is excellent, superb even! no mistake about that
but we always need options

seems theres a lot more writers on deviantart than i expected and not everyone write FANfic so its good to have one more option to the pile than just Archiveofourown
furaffinity has a similar system as deviantart to upload stories.
