Description Ti is very mediocre in everything, but covers up by being utterly stubborn about doing things she's passionate about, and snapping at you for mentioning things she never wants to be part of But she's mostly a very nice and positive person, unless you're a chivalrous guy or a bossy lady, or messing with her friends xD

She ran off from hometown, to travel with Aidan Nightfly . And has managed to stay alive so far, which is not a bad start.

Yeah girl, now you got your character sheet too
D
---
Thanks to RinaAndRaven Ti has her sword on the right side of her xD always nice to have a pair of fresh eyes and someone to ask the right questions
- oh is she left-handed?
- Um, no? Argh, shit >__>"
And then I also got a free, and very enlightening, explanation of sword as a weapon and its place in history that made my world bigger

Upd:
Her real name is Aletina Trigrass and she hates it for how long and official it sounds ("You're talking like a tax collector!")
But to make her ref sheet more findable I'll put this here nonetheless (sorry, lass xD)

Adventurer≠unemployed if you live in a medieval world of magic and monsters. So... does that mean no monsters? Because if you live in a world with monsters then adventurers keep the world safe. Mediocre ones don't do it for long, though, right? And you can't be a quick learner and stay mediocre forever, so I guess she'll be pretty good. It sounds like she almost has the skills and will be able to get more fast.

I always imagined it would be hell trying to draw a sword from the right side of you if you're right handed, so I always put scabbards or sheathes or whatever on the opposite side, since it made sense, but I didn't do research. But it sounds like you did it because you got schooled by someone awesome.

I like how this ref sheet is funny. Like, it's not super funny but it's light overall in the art and description, so I can think happy thoughts looking at this.

I'm sorry I didn't have more to say about these characters, but all of them say so much that I've had trouble trying to figure out what to say about them, BECAUSE there's so much to say! I'd be stuck rambling!

There are many non-human creatures in the world, but I think at that moment they mostly chased their own goals.

But technically, their money probably came from helping villagers at times. So you're right in a way

I think she's mediocre cause she gets distracted and learns many things, but doesn't focus on single one. So, she will be good at many but no sooner than she's like 40 years old x'D

I knew it worked this way, but just didn't check (like beginners put thumbs on the wrong side of a hand ) But I'm lucky Rina loves weapons (yeah one of things they admire in Dark Souls... ) I'm not a very bright student in this sense...

Rina also explained that swords were status weapons so commoners couldn't wear them cause a) they didn't have enough money for something like that, b) it took years of training, and without that people were safer with a knife or an axe or a flail. And that good swords couldn't be forged by single smith, rather a manufacture with many people. So... this gal is kinda breaking those rules, but I decided my fantasy setting can be less strict xD

Hah that's good to hear xD I was being ironic a bit not to make her too dramatic

And don't worry, I didn't mean to overload you with questions, it's amazing how you wrote so much for all of my images

Because I watched a bunch of Shadiveristy videos, it made me think about adventurer art I've seen and video games I've played and really think about just how much "adventurer" would be a legit profession in a world where monsters that are nigh impossible to wipe out. People wouldn't want to live or travel with those things around and no guards to protect them or adventurers to cull monsters and find magically spawning relics to interfere with monster spawns.

Well, you grow faster at the beginning of learning something that you're good at learning, so I guess learning a bunch of things but mastering none is the best way to get good at things quickly.

I didn't know all that about swords, though, because the YouTubers didn't tell me how many people it took to manufacture a sword in any video I watched. Just that swords have the highest skill ceiling and highest skill floor of all the medieval weapons, were really expensive until, after centuries, steel weapons finally became more widespread and cheaper, it took a really skilled smith to make one (but I think one smith can ) and they're high maintenance weapons. And also that they were able to be regulated, like firearms, because it wasn't that easy to get them, so maybe certain people having them would be weapons violations? Well fantasy is more fun when the weapon laws are less strict.
Also I think I forgot to say before that maybe she'd have her sword on the right side if it was like a gladius or something like that?

Irony to avoid drama sounds amazing.

Yep you overloaded me, but that's because your characters are overloaded with story. IN A GOOD WAY!
Speaking of overload, I've almost completed my entire cast lineup.
Longest, Fastest Lineup
A few are missing, some are incomplete- or poorly placed- and I need to alter the image to get it to display better for deviantART, but it's almost done. Most of the characters need to change a little. Some of them need to change quite a lot. Some of them are too extreme, but others aren't exaggerated enough. And some of them still resemble their inspirations too closely.
But that lineup was done kinda fast to help me understand each one a little better and see exactly what I could do with some of them.

Yeah, it makes sense for such worlds. I'm not yet sure how much the world is filled with monsters and thugs, but maybe.

It's still a pretty unstable freelance job (wait, this is where 'freelance' comes back to its original meaning )

Yeah I guess that's how it is. But there was also rule of 10 000 hours - that's how much you need to truly master any skill from beginning. But she'll be fine being averagely good at different things

Yeah, that sounds like its true too. And they did regulate swords (but mostly it came down to nobility wearing them)

One smith can, but it would be an average sword and not best materials. Like costume stitched by single tailor would be compared to a costume from world-famous brand - or that's how I understood the idea But I think in games and stories it can be this way

I had to look up gladius. But that's an interesting suggestion! Yeah, it could be possible. But I decided to stick to the current plan of carrying it on the left side for now.

---

The lineup is a cool idea, and I think it's quite handy and interesting to compare too. And it's cool to see gathering of characters (wow you got so many!) And it's also handy to see how they would appear next to each other.

Yeah this needs some tweaking once you're finished - especially the pixie-sized side (maybe it needs a "magnifying glass" closeup area?) But it would make a good reference for comics, and for people who wish to do fanart

That's the original meaning of "freelance"? "Free lance"? =D

10,000 hours to MASTER a skill, but you learn the most in the first 500. Maybe the first 10 days for some skills. :workers: So she's 75% mastered all the skills in, like, 1000 total hours of adventuring.

Thanks for informing me about swords more. I thought there were more weapon codes, but I'm sure there were, since the period(s) was a long time and the world a big place. Didn't know if you knew that Roman sword or not.

For my lineup, which superbadly needs the tweaking, the pixie part got that right away, actually. As soon as I posted the first stages of this lineup, I made sure to make a separate drawing where all the creatures were in it together, alone, so they can be viewed up close. I put some links like that in the description.
Now that that contest is going in Project Comment, I really better touch this up for people soon.

Yep it is They called mercenaries so, because lance was easier to master and cheaper to buy, so mercs used those a lot in middle ages. And "free" meant they weren't loyal to countries and lords, being mercs

I never knew details, but I do remember that title from RPG (not that RPG give us good idea of weapons.. In Lineage II falchion was a heavy weapon for tank's sword and shield build, and in Dark Souls it's a saber-like one, where's the truth??)

Good plan, to give links to closeup images.
Btw do you use sections for regular comments too? Cause you post in Quick Questions stuff that takes quite a bit of looking and thinking, so I think it's natural that folks don't respond fast

"Adventurer (=unemployed xd)", hoo boy So what? Judging by her body language and expression while wearing travel outfit, she's very content with her present life Also, she has an adorable companion she (I think?) wouldn't have met, if she stayed in her hometown.

Yes, I can tell that she is a happy adventurer But lucky for her to stick to the mage friend she followed, rather than risk going alone...

Do you mean the horse companion? Cause if so, then no, she bought her back in hometown, a few years ago. But that also means she's been good with horse riding by the time she hit the road Β  And their relationship benefited from traveling together, I'm sure.
