Description This was a very fast, very sloppy, very new attempt at a more Oriental-style of linework and coloring. It's supposed to kind of sort of maybe resemble an attempt at Chinese ink paintings. XD I think I failed but ah well.

A : Yokai in my game are shapeshifters bound to ONE animal form which is displayed constantly in the form of a mask. They are forbidden by imperial decree to ever remove their mask. Legend tells that the yokai became so powerful in their shapeshifting abilities that they manipulated their forms to become more fair than even the dragons. Angered by their show of arrogance, the dragons bound them to a single form and to their masks. To destroy a yokai's mask is to slay the yokai. To separate them from their mask is to separate them from their ability to change forms, and to remove their mask is punishable by death for they are never to show their face.

B : No they're not ZOMG DEMONZ!!1!!!1oneoneone
I hate demons. I hate how demons are the new coolest thing to play next to gods/goddesses/demi-gods or half-demon-half-angel ZOMG so original atrocities. Check out wikipedia for a better idea of what a yokai is.

C : Hiroshi is the victim of a tragic love story. More on that later on. XD

D : If you've not guessed already, he's a crane yokai. XD

Hiroshi and the weird legend of the Yokai (c) Me.

I kinda like this style, very interesting The arm in the back looks awkward, you have to look at the other arm to realize it is the elbow and now a lopped off arm Love the background and the softness though

I really like the story behind them and I think you did very well to match a chinese painting theme. The lines are my favorite for sure <3

I love him! I can see why MeiLing lost her heart to this handsome Yokai. The style is wonderful, and adds such flavor to this entrancing piece!

Ah... I can understand why people would think that your "Yokai" are "demons"... since that word translated means demons.

Very cool detail in both the literal image and the background!

Demon, monster, or spirit yup. XD But generally, demons aren't really 'demons' in the sense of what popular fiction/media. They're closer to the obake than anything. :3
