Though all around is dark and cheerless,And on high my star looks pale,
My heart is steadfast still and fearless,
Still my lips disdain to wail.
My spirit still stands up undaunted,
Still I on myself rely;
No craven thought my brain e'er haunted,
Fate and Fortune I defy!
o_o I just randomly started doodling Toby to get out some mental frusteration (Yay for my muse of anger XD) and this was the result. I'm pleasently suprised since it's like three in the morning almost. I've been wanting to draw him again just because XD But yeah. I might work on this more, might add a background or color. Not sure. The title was 100% inspired by an RP session between Ryu and I. Pen's recently decided to make Tobias a minor lord under him to manage some of his lands, and on the topic of crests and family names, Pen suggested that Tobias' flag/crest reads simply "I Defy". Very fitting for him.
I guess the expression can be credited to the song "Headstrong" which I normally have playing when I'm drawing Toby in a grumpy mood XD

very nice, heh....Toby is the excellent muse for anger and frustration, hell even I used him o.O...I guess he radiates it....and I certainly emapthize with this because GOD that's how I've felt lately ><

XD He's gotten a lot better temper-wise. I think he makes a good muse for it because of how expressive he is. When he looks angry- he -really- looks it. Thal...sheesh he couldn't look scary if he tried XD

lol! indeed....Toby's got a very expressive face the way you've designed him. And he's got a body that is easy to position to really pull off body language as well....and I think the "messy" type hair and the fur does help some too...
