good lord this is finally done :,D Aaaaah Kaaaaav this came out so goooood and it was so much fuuuun!

First off! Kav and I collabed every image on here (except I did the crest and she did the wings) so that they'd have some interesting interactions c: I sketched, Kav lined, I colored ^^ I think our styles look really cool together pfff

We also decided that the design looked incomplete with white blood so we went with a darker coloration while keeping them matching ^^

Unlike the other entries we'll only be submitting this single reference as a tryout. If we win, I'll send this file to Kav so she can upload it to have a ref for Shield ^^ NOW. TO THE BOYS.

Bio: The boys were born in Tratool 550 years ago, Sword being born 5 minutes prior to Shield and never letting anyone forget it. At birth, Sword was the bigger of the two and remained as such until the two were in their second year of schooling; when Shield seemed to quickly catch up to Sword and outmatch him. During their growing years, Sword and Shield seemed to be having a race on who would be the tallest. Worked out nicely that the two stand at the same height now; though Sword swears he’s half an inch taller. From a young age, the two were inseparable and to this day they hardly ever fought. Argue, sure, but neither can stay mad at the other.
During their lower levels of school, their teachers believed they needed to develop some confidence on their own and tried separating the two into different classes for a school year. Shield was bullied and horribly anxious and before the day was over Sword punched one of the other children making fun of his brother in the face and the two were sent home. So as you can imagine, the next day they were put back in the same class again.

As children, their parents couldn’t keep them out of ANYTHING. Cookie jars, toy boxes, candy bowls, items they were grounded from…nothing stood a chance. Even when the adults placed them out of the reach of the boys, they climbed onto each other and other household items within their reach so that one could pull whatever was being kept from them down to share. Needing to expel the energy of their boys, Sword and Shield’s parents enrolled them in gymnastics; hoping the extraneous activity would wear them out after school. Unfortunately, it did quite the opposite. The twins ADORED being in the gymnasium: flinging themselves about on the rings, swinging on the bars, balancing on the beams, oh but most of all they couldn’t be pulled away from the floor. They’d make up routines together and whenever given the chance their favorite party tricks were when Sword climbed up on his brother and the two showed off their hand balancing skills.

As much as the two enjoyed the competitiveness of gymnastics, there wasn’t much room for team performances in this environment. The two took an interest in acrobatics and became a duo. The two do performances together and occasionally as guests in famous Cirques. Their act is most famously known for their hand balancing and incorporating knives into this. Though still young, the two are very well known performers and have come to own a fortune through their shows. Their house could be mistaken for that of some snobby rich guy –cough-Soundproof-cough- though minimally furnished to give the boys plenty of space to practice, hold parties, and, of course, show off.

Personality:
[Sword]: Sword is…excessive. It’s common belief that he’s the one that gets the two into the deepest trouble and worst situations because he doesn’t know when to turn it down. He’s loud and not shy about his lisp in the least. He’s protective of his baby brother (He’s 5 minutes older and will let no one forget it) and is well known for starting fights to defend him. The house parties are almost always his idea, since he’s also well known for flirting with practically everyone that shows up and showing him his favorite rooms (If ya know what I mean). During their practices, Sword is the most at risk for getting hurt since he’s the lighter of the two and does the lifts and throws. He’s happy to take the risk though in the place of Shield and puts his complete faith in his brother not dropping him. His personal favorite stunts involve knife balancing (literally exactly what it sounds like), throws and the Russian Swing.

[Shield]: Shield is more reserved than his slightly older brother, but that doesn't mean he isn't outgoing in his own way. While the other is better known for getting them into trouble, there have been plenty of occasions where he came up with the idea first. He tends to have to act as his twin's voice of reason, but sometimes is the devil on his shoulder. Shield is much shyer about his lisp as he was teased as a child for it, but is confident enough as long as his brother is by his side. He gets oddly flustered when it comes to relationships, and is terrible at flirting, usually just letting his brother do the talking and having the fun. Shield acts as the lift and anchor for Sword during their performances and practices, and spends a lot of time practicing keeping his balance as well as doing strength training. Just as Sword has total trust in him, he has complete trust in his brother to hold his balance and execute their stunts perfectly. His favorite stunts are anything that have to do with aerial silks and the Russian Swing.

Ears- the boys both have a circular notch in the opposite ear. This is from when they were little and decided to make a blood pact by piercing their ears. It….it didn’t go well.
Eyebrow (Sword): Knife balancing accident where Sword lost his balance and almost stabbed himself in the head. Close call but he likes to say “girls dig a guy with scars”.
Lip (Shield): In the same knife balancing incident, Shield had tried to adjust to catch Sword and tripped, causing the blade in his mouth to bounce back and smack him in the face as he hit the floor. Little more uncomfortable with his scar than Sword seems to be.

House: The boys live in a house with way more space than two kolths really need. Two normal kolths anyways. They own a large floor plan house, but it is minimally furnished to allow them to practice and run around without breaking anything. The entrance doors are large, black granite with white marble flooring and walls. Their living room seems strangely large and empty, having the floor space of a high school gym and stadium style seating along one wall with full length windows on the other. There are 5 rows, each of stacked stone with a plush cushion to cover it. They have several sets of rings, bars and aerial silks that dangle from the ceiling towards the center of the room, which seem oddly placed…until the floor opens into a deep pool. Yes, this is where most of their house parties are held, though the floor can be opened and closed to expose the pool or to hide it and allow the floor space for dancing. This is where most of the floor plan is taken up, and deeper into the house their rooms are the second biggest space. Though they are separate, the wall between the two has secret panels that can be removed so the boys can slip into the other’s room easily. Really they could just walk between but why do that when you could climb through the wall?! Sword has plenty of additions to his walls and ceiling to climb around his room, but his bed is within the floor with surround sound speakers for quiet time. Shield’s is identical with a slight variation in color. Sword’s favorite color is blue, thus most of the décor in his room is blue. Shield’s is orange.

The Cirque: The Cirque that the boys star in holds many acts and attractions that join up with them as they tour the planet and perform. Sword swallowers, contortionists, magicians, trapeze, balancing, water acts, and much more. Very rarely are animals used in their acts, and the ones that are only those which would be easily trained and kept as pets so as not to pose a danger to the acts and can be rehomed for retirement (i.e, Birds, cats, dogs, various reptiles, etc.). Very few humans work the ring, but they can be commonly found servicing the shows through concessions and clean up. The Cirque is less of your average idea of a circus act and most comparable to the Cirque Du Soleil of Earth.
