Description Banner of the Swiss Kaliphal Guard, wich has it's origins in the 16th century. Suleiman I. had already made a previous alliance with the Swiss Confederation and erected them a abarrack in Rome, seeing forward to recruit Swiss mercenaries. The pact was renewed under every Sultan and were slowly growing to become the Sultan's personal guard, replacing the Jannissaries and making them become an elite miltary force and later also the Empires secret service.

The Swiss Guard today has over 500 members wich guard the Sultan's palace in Rome and acompany him everywhere.

Their abnner is made up of the Swiss Guard's colours in the upper right and lower left corner and the personal arms of Suleiman I. ind the lower right and the arms of the current Kaliph in the upper left corner (in this example Abdülmecid I.).

The center arms is that of the current commander's personal arms (Daniel Rudolf Anrig).
