Indeed! I like to collect old journals and if I found this in a bookstore I would be ecstatic I love the design on this, it's not too complicated but it's got a hypnotic look to it, so you do not get bored looking at it. It can be difficult finding books that have that quality

Do you know how cool it would be to walk up to a random book store and find books like yours in it. Heehee, There should be specialty book stores!

TimBakerFX In reply to NicoleCijsFantasyArt [2010-03-30 06:03:27 +0000 UTC]

oh it's not a LARP prop, i'm actually writing a graphic novel but instead of drawing the panels, i'm making the models and characters and shooting it like a stop motion animation (sort of like if they did Coraline as a comic book). So, I have a ton of props to make good guess tho.

TimBakerFX In reply to Calyptra [2009-11-07 20:52:00 +0000 UTC]

Hahaha, well, it's a very long term project, I'm making a graphic novel. It's done with models and miniatures instead of drawings tho, kind of like if they shot Nightmare before Christmas as a comic book instead of animating. That way I get to do all the fun stuff, making the puppets and sets, lighting and painting but not moving things 1/8th of an inch for 18 hours a day (I've done a lot of animation and it's mind numbing. My favorite part of the project is that i'm putting codes and puzzles riddles in the book, and if someone solves them they lead to an actual prize... a silver and gem covered book like the ones I've posted here. It's a crazy amount of work but so fun to do. Thanks for your interest

Caila In reply to ??? [2009-05-06 05:05:14 +0000 UTC]

whoah! the book has its own aura of magic and technology, and it even manages to be all misterious and yet kinda approachable ( Im imagining finding this neat book on an old dusty bookstore with an old yet wise bookseller.. damn,my imagination just ran wild in five seconds)a quite nice and amazing work.

one little question,it has an internal mechanism? cause it looks like a clock or something along the lines...and also how did you do the metal parts? it really caught my eye the detailed metal work.

simply amazing.
