Description
This was a puppet I made for a Film called Every Dog has it's Day. It had to talk, sing, eyes move and blink and smoke a cigarette. I cast the car dash and painted it to match. Foam latex, resin, wire and lots of other stuffRelated content

I can never decide whether its an actual photograph of the work or something CG. In any case he looks great! Any chance I could see the guy in action?

Hehe, thanks hun, he is one of my favorite pieces ... and so rewarding, lots of screen time and a standing ovation from the crew when we shot him (that just never happens

Thanks so much, I love jobs that let me explore new things, and this one had lots of new stuff I had never done before (like singing in a Tom Waits voice LOL

Wait, you made this? Is that what i'm hearing? This is Jim Henson Creature shop worthy!

Thank you, that's quite a complement. I've worked on projects with The Creature Shop.. good people but i prefer doing my own small productions than being pigeon holed in a big Effects shop (and they all pay poorly

Hahaha, fantastic! It's often so easy to forget that puppets are an artwork in themselves, and the amount of work that goes into them. It would be great to see this fellow in action - could you tell us a bit more about the film?

It was a great script, a guy on a road trip with his little Jack Russell dog accidentally mixes up his meds with his dogs meds (with a bit of tequila as well) and has these hallucinations... the first is his Delco radio talks that talks, smokes and sings the blues with him. A bitch to shoot but well worth the effort and weeks to build sometimes I love my job.

Thanks! it was a real learning experience for me. It's my habit in this business, when someone asks you if you can do anything al all, you say with no pause..."sure thing". Then, it's panic time in the shop ;-P

sounds like we work similarly but in different areas xD the same here... sometimes the boss will take a job and then just shove it to my face "i already said yes! so do it" usualy followed by a "it's for yesterday" xD sleepless nights along the usual sleepless nights for homework and finals...
