You have no outside horses in for training Would you be interested in racing one of my racers for me, cause I'm a racing girl
A new map, as if the first wasn't confusing enough Kidding, but seriously, those trails would take me hours to go though...

Erm...well you can pick, I've got a champagne dun QH mare - late 4 year old, a 2 year old grey colt, a 3 year old silver grullo sabino colt...and um, think that might be it. All of them have been entered before in mini shows, but the only one with decent entries into shows is the grey, who also has training. I'd prefer you take him, just because I want him to have a big racing career before he becomes a barrel horse, but the other 2 need some starts as well. I need to try to draw more racing pictures, jockeys are my weakness
I meant as if they were real and I had to ride though them. I'd probably get lost

How about I just train all 3 of them? :3 Racing in many equine games ive played have been my specialty. So i dont mind. ^^ itll help me get my TBs up and going. <3

They're all QHs, so they'll be a little different than TBs, but go for it The grey will be my big "money" horse, and I'd like to try to get him to be the highest leveled QH racer in the URA (I think thats it), so thats why he's so much younger.
I will say that I might "stop by" TLEC and pick up a horse for a random racing occassion if I get the urge to try it...
lemme go grab their links for ya

I knew what ya meant, just I don't think them race distances are gonna be the same I think it's almost funny how people think TBs are faster than QHs in any distance, QHs are faster over short distances, but don't usually have the same stamina as TBs over a long distance haul. I'm pretty sure QHs start their race as soon as they break out of the gaits, so they have to start quick and have a quick burst of speed, where as TBs get a little track time before their timer starts, where they can gain speed from their gate break. Not sure if that's true or not, but I think it is. My brain is too foggy
lol, hopefully! If you need help finding stock races, lemme know

Oh, well, no of course not XD
no, tbs are no where near as fast over short distances XD HELLO?? thats why they are called QUARTER horses... ugh, people lol and i have watched quarter horse / stock horse racing. it does start the INSTANT the gates open... because they only have a quarter / half a mile to win... its gorgeous hearing the hooves, watching the power... even in the young horses... its amazing. makes me tear up every time. XD i believe so, thats what the little straight stretch apart from the 'oval' is. because it takes their long legs a minute. although im not sure its true in all races.

I knew QHs started from the moment the gates opened, but wasn't sure with TBs...but in barrel racing and roping, you need a quick break from those turns or in the box, if you're just hitting max speed when you're almost halfway down the arena for roping, that cow is gonna outrun ya from the chute, and for barrels, you'll be ready to rate before you're there in time...but I have to agree that there is something magical about the thundering of the hooves. I get teared up over just watching high quality horses do anything I'm weird like that though, I think it's cause you can usually see how much the horses enjoy it....when I ran friday at the big barrel race and got our time, I was so excited I nearly cried, and I did get pretty choked up so all I could do was whisper good girl and rub her all over

bahahahaha, yeah... i want to cry watching horses do anything as well... because of the power.. the grace, the way they trust their riders/handlers or willingly do their jobs...chills/tears... everytime... ESPECIALLY if theres music.... XD and yeah, i can totally relate to that, i did it at my first show with my first horse. we won a 5th place ribbon (lowest place was 6th) in hunter under saddle... ^^'

When it comes to horses, I'm a softie lol but not so much that I cry when a horse needs to be put down, cause usually when they're put down, it's a medical reason or they're too dangerous in which case its usually in the best case to put the horse down if they can't get professional help. In that way I'm sensible. And my cat is jumping on my desk. Her tail covered my whole screen for a second there. Stinkin cat... I'm hoping next year I can take Destiny to the fair in gymkhana, reining and trail. I've worked with her on lead changes and she can do them pretty well, we only got like 2 weeks to even practice them and we finally got a flying lead change the night BEFORE the show, and she was able to do 1 flying lead change during the pattern, the other 2 were a little sloppier. But her spins she's got the basics, so I need to finish those up, and I need to work on a solid whoa, so I'm gonna see if we have an argentine snaffle and put her in that probably. Not a big mouthpiece, cause she doesn't need much, but something with a little more "whoa". I wanna see if I can get her to properly slide. She can slide about a foot to two feet in proper form, but she doesn't have sliders on either, so that's expected, but I'm considering seeing how much sliders will cost and slapping some on her. We had them on my old gelding (I didn't say anything, but we rehomed my old dunalino reiner gelding before I went up north to the barrel race. It's a home that has a nice big open turn out for him and will ride him occassionally and give him lots of love. They'll keep him till he's done and they'll make sure he gets vet care when needed. They had a little girl, and he LOVES kids, and as soon as she started petting on him, he would follow her. He will do anything for kids, so I know it's a great home for him), anyhow, we had them on my old gelding when I was showing him, and you could get a 10+ foot slide out of him with them, but barefoot, he would do a bouncy pop type slide where he slid a foot or two, would bounce up, and slide again, because it was harder on his hocks. So I wanna see how much they cost. I'm considering telling my grandparents if I can get their mare sold for 4,000, if I could "commission" off the 500, since they would only be asking 3500 (which in my opinion is much too low for her, considering if I had more time, I could probably haul her more and sell her easily for 5000-6000), but if they're willing to let me do the extra added on, since I will be showing her to prospective buyers cause she likes me and works for me, then I could take that money and my barrel race money, buy the magnetic blanket, and then put sliders on her for few months and still have extra left over if I wanted to haul anywhere. Yesterday I was thinking maybe try the commission, and if I got it, paying to get Destiny hauled back to colorado to spend a few weeks with my aunt's family for some roping training. She wouldn't take much to teach to follow a cow, since she pretty much does that on her own at sortings and cuttings, and she already allows you to swing and throw a rope all around her (person we got her from would do rope tricks on her), so it wouldn't take much. Just dreamin out loud here...I'll stop now before this turns to a novel...

yea... ill get emotional if its my horse needing to be put down... because im bonded with the animal, it would be like losing family...and seeing as how i lost both of my grandparents within six months, im not really interested in that right now ... >.<
and it sounds like a great plan! I dont see why they wouldnt let you commission off of her, since you are the one advertising her, per se.
And if you do with destiny, i would love to see how well she goes with it, shes a great horse from the sounds of it. my horse can be roped off of, but she never got any professional training. XD so if i should feel like roping, just some good work would make it happen... its getting the umph to do it XD

I'm on my phone so I'll probably keep it short.
That I totally understand, my horses are my partners, my buddies, my loves, my babies, and hold a piece of my heart. When I ride, I don't just ride, I mold to the horse to compliment them. There aren't many horses I haven't been able to ride successfully, no matter the style they are.
I'll have to see, cause if I raise her price, people round here ain't got that, so I'll need to advertise on other sites, but the people on other sites will want to know what she's hauling like, and I've only hauled her once.
Destiny has basically done all the roping stuff except coming out of the box. You can sit on her an rope the dummy all day and she'll just go with it. One night I'd pull my slack and then she'd take the rope in her mouth and help me pull it. It'd make an interesting tie down run!

well, it may be worth it to advertise her as much as you can. surely if shes as good as you say, there will be someone willing to pay 4grand for such a nice one. i would, but i dont have the money ^^'
and the more you talk about destiny the more i want to just like... snatch her xD

All the horses I've seen that are her style sell for over 10g and most of them exactly like her are closer to 30g I have no dout in my mind I could get that for her, it's just the matter of finding the right person for her, cause she is marish and picky about her riders...if she don't like ya, she'll let ya know it
lol nope, my baby girl is mine I'll have to upload some pictures to my stash of the big barrel race. My friend apparently took some on my camera without me knowing, so that was a nice surprize after like a week of being home
It's cool to see how I ride her when they're on continuous mode, it's like hand's forward (loose reins) half the turn and as we hit the backside, I start picking up on her and for like half a second I'm in her mouth and then I'm releasing for her to move forward and get outta the pocket. She's pretty good about her turns, she does most of it by herself usually, same with the older mare I ride, they know when I sit and say easy, we turn. If I'm up and riding, we ride past though. The only thing with Destiny is she is pretty high headed in her turns, so when we put the headsetter on her (tie-down but the nose slides so it works off the poll and nose) and she looks so much more collected, were as before she looked all strung out. She just looks more collected, and as long as you're doing a slow lope, her head won't come up in the slighest, but when you run, it's like she gets so low she feels like she's gonna fall, so she tries to keep her head up to balance herself out. Which makes sense but also doesn't, but it's just her, cause she gets low but at the same time, she doesn't like you on her face otherwise her head goes higher (even though I've spent this whole time I've had her working on getting her to break at the poll to bit pressure, poll pressure, and nose pressure). She likes to turn by herself, which I'm fine with
She likes to turn and that's a good thing in my book

You steal my baby, you better sleep with both eyes open and a gun in your pillow And you couldn't ever have two horses that looked like her, she's branded and her spots are crazy...rode her today and she was like wanting to really run the barrels and lope the poles (I wanted to slow lope barrels and trot poles), so once I gave her the cue to slow down, she did but she wanted to just go for it so bad
Than I'd shut her down afterwards and as soon as we hit a walk she was like dead pony walking
I rode my grandma's mare for about 30 minutes, and the whole time she was standing with my grandma practically falling asleep. Crazy dang horse.

I rode her today and she is such a nutshell When we were up north, she was hot and antsy, she didn't wanna walk out of the arena, she wanted to prance, and when I was picking up the barrels we tapped and made fall, she was like dancing all around. Today? Oh no, we finish running home from barrels and we stop and then she just stops and then walks off. Then when my grandma would hit something on Becca, I'd get off and just leave her in the middle of the "arena" (it's just cleared off dirt area, our property is fenced, but that also means our "arena" only has 2 sides, so we have 2 open sides) and walk off and she's just stand there watching me. She was like little miss dead broke today
I even stood up on her and then sat on her butt and laid down so my stomach was just behind the seat and put my arms out and said "Look, I'm flying" before I pushed myself back and rolled off her butt. She just stood there the whole time with her head low like "Go ahead, I know you'll do it anyway"
