Description
This is a new sprites series I’m planning that comes after the events of my current sprite series Mario and Luigi: The Mask. This was originally going to be a single story for Mario and Luigi: the Mask but the more I wrote it, the more I decided I could turn it into a sprite series itself.

Mario and Luigi: Raise the Toadtanic!

Over 100 years ago on April 10th 1912 the RMS Toadtanic set out from Toadhampton on its maiden voyage to New Toad City across the Great Ocean. But on the 4th night of its journey it struck an iceberg and sank in 3 hours with the loss of 1500 passengers and crew to the icy waters. This is the story everyone knows, but it was not where it ended.

In the present day, a group of Toad and Koopa archaeologists are hot on the trail of a lost artefact, the ‘Ultimate Power Up’ also known as the Hecodatec a mysterious object who’s actual power and nature remain a mystery but it is know that it is immensely powerful, and they have traced its whereabouts to the shipping port of Toadhampton.

Mario and Luigi have been requested by Princess Peach to aid in the hunt for this Hecodatec and prevent it falling into the wrong hands, namely Bowsers’. But the mission turns from improbable to near impossible when it’s discovered the Hecodatec was to go to New Toad City and was loaded into the cargo hold of the Toadtanic and subsequently went down with the titan class liner to the inky abyss, and to add to the misfortune the wreck of the 900 foot long liner has never been found and lays 3 miles below the surface where the pressure will crush bone. All hope seems lost until Professor E. Gadd comes up with a radical solution, using his inventive mind he plans to locate and then raise the 900 foot long, 46,000 ton super liner back to the surface.

But Bowser is now on their trail so it’s a race against time to locate the Toadtanic on the sea bed and raise it before Bowser catches up with them, but the mission is very problematic as there is more on the seabed of the Great Ocean then just the Toadtanic’s wreck and there’s quite a few adventures for Mario and Luigi as they follow leads and clues that point them in the direction of the long lost leviathan.

It is also very loosely based off my favourite novel by Clive Cussler ‘Raise the Titanic!’ and I mean loosely based as in they raise a large ship from 3 miles under the sea to get something from the cargo hold, apart from that it’s going to be original.

As a continuation it will feature characters I’ve introduced in Mario and Luigi: The Mask.

Fans of my Mario and Luigi: The Mask series might remember the Toadtanic was first mentioned in chapter 5 of that series. This was to set up for the episode where the ship would later appear, but since I’m turning it into a sprite series itself it’s only remaining purpose in chapter 5 was to show that Bowsers Leviathan Doom Ship he is building was based off an unsinkable ship that sank.

Though I won’t start working on this fully until I’m done with Mario & Luigi: the Mask –which still has a long way to go before it’s done-, I am trying to produce a prologue which I aim to release for this April 14th or 15th to commemorate the 101st anniversary of the disaster that this story is based upon.
