A poster for the current chapter of the Mario and Luigi: The Mask saga.

Luigi/Green Thunder pays Kamek a visit to get a cure for Daisy's condition. But it has some un-expected side-effects the Koopa wizard did not tell them about. Daisy is now a giant and is loving every minute of it. While Green Thunder kidnaps and tries to 'persuade' Kamek to be more helpful Toad Town comes under attack yet again by the Axem Rangers and their Zoid like devices. Daisy, now dubbing herself Mega Daisy goes to defend the helpless people of the Mushroom Kingdom. But the Axem Rangers have one final trick up their sleeve. In true Power Rangers fashion their zoids combine into one mega robot dubbed the Mecha Blade. The battle stage is now set for Daisy to be the heroine and to make a name for herself as more than just a "Peach Clone".

Behind the Scenes
I realised I'd been kind of neglecting Daisy for this season and the last season, and I wanted to make her grow as a character (no pun intended there ) so far she has been in trouble from being kidnapped by Koopa Squad, wearing the Mask, and turning into a Balloon. But this time I wanted a problem to befall her so that she can be of some use to the story and to start introducing more of the badass qualities I feel this character deserves to embody.

Since I already had the Axem Rangers use Zoid robots in the previous chapter against Yoshi/Mask-Rex I decided the next logical step would be to (in true Power Rangers style) have the Zoids join together as one Mega Robot. Originally that robot would fight Yoshi/Mask-Zilla (Yoshi/Mask's much bigger form.) but it was more of a throwaway visual joke where no battle took place.

So I had 2 problems. I wanted the Axem Ranger Zoids to come together, and I wanted Daisy to play more of a role in this last story of the season, and I though "Why not combined the 2 together. Make Daisy a giant and the Axem Rangers can create their Mega Zoid to fight her. Problem solved and I had chapter 13
