Description This is something I recently put together to explain my process of creating a cover for a comic book or kids' book.

Usually, the publisher/editor/client will tell me what they're looking for. Then I provide "thumbnail" sketches of various ideas. These sketches are typically small and quite rough, intended to give a basic idea of posing, composition, etc. The client chooses one of the sketches for me to develop into the final cover. Next comes a pencil drawing, and if the client likes that, then I move on to inks and colors. After that, any logos or captions are added, completing the cover.

I imagine this process is more or less standard for most artists, but if anyone ever wondered how I create a cover, wonder no more

Thanks for looking!
