Description How about another peek at the process on how we create the Ghostbusters comic for IDW? Above you can see the thumbnails, pencils and final colors by the talented

Step 1: After reading 's script, I begin to research locations, props and other visuals. I strive to make the backgrounds, landmarks and other props as accurate as possible. With all that info I sketch out small pages, focusing on what is most important to showcase in each panel. Leaving room for dialog, as well as using elements in the panel to direct the eyes. I enjoyed how the last panel turned out, and with the great dialog Erik wrote, even to this day I chuckle when I read it

Step 2: I print out the panels and clean them up. I like to keep the characters on model as much as possible, so I strive for that in every issue. I also add labels and other elements to help with the coloring process.

Step 3: Luis creates a festive holiday of color!

Hope you like the process showcased here

I've also opened up my Q&A here so feel free to ask any questions you have, and I'll do my best to get to them!

Cheers,

Dan

Β I'm guessing you thumbnail the page layout then draw each panel individually? Do you draw in a regular sketch book or on comic book cardstock?Β

Hey there, what do you feel is the most important thing that editors are looking for from a new artist? I thought I would ask because I would like to submit my own work one day to IDW and thought It would be wise to ask. Thanks for your time. liam

Do you really go from the blue ruffs right to clean? SO much extra detail added! and Perspective fixes and everything? If so, crazy impressive. (well, it is either way.)
And I love your attention to staying on model and background detail, it makes the books feel really solid.

As always, awesome awesome awesome. So you're inking the pages traditionally? Or are you using a prog like photoshop or manga studio or painter?
