So it can scout at an extreme range and height. Fire in many great angles. Great exercise when you want to climb up to the hatch.
Let's be honest here, the weaknesses are pretty obvious here.

That's what I thought, but it's height does fit it's role. Since the walker is meant primarily for scouting, the walker can use it's large height to see very far away while staying out of enemy fire, and it's height give's the walker's own weapons INSANE firing arcs. Basically it can see all, and shoot all.

Oooooh, I see. Like how insane are the firing arcs? Also I saw the description and saw another reason for it's tallness. Cuz it can also be a TOWER.
