After the successful launching of the T-1 CC-Class Transport "GFS: Novis Initiis", the Galactic Federation of Systems (GFS) was launched into a new era of space ship design doctrines. Now developing, and producing new ships that were built from "pods" that could be "snapped" together to form a ship, these new ships featured a very high degree of modularity allowing for virtually any ship to be configured into any kind of role required. Though when the "GFS: Novis Initiis" was initially launched, there were only three basic pods (light/small - engines, passenger, and bridge pods) which, for the first decade of service, rendered any "pod" ships as a passenger or light cargo transports, until 2610 when the T-1 MC-Class transport was introduced. Sharing the same engine, and bridge pods of the T-1 CC-Class, the standard T-1 MC-Class featured four cargo pods capable of housing thousands of cargo-containers. The cargo pod's open nature allowed the cargo containers to be quickly loaded and unloaded from the ship. By 2639, over 2,000 T-1 MC-Class Transports were built.
