It had been a while since Nestor had come to visit but here she was, in front of Sharkie.

The last few weeks in the Nook had been miserable. Sharkie just felt like he cried all day and made everyone else feel bad too. He didn't want that, yet it was happening. The Nook wasn't the place for him. And he missed Nestor so much. So so much.

But here she was. He looked up at her.

"Hi Sharkie," she said, smiling down at him. She seemed calmer today, and happier than on her other visits.

He was happy to see her but he was also wary; he knew she would just have to leave again later. "...Hi Nestor..." He said quietly. She took a few steps toward him. He took a few.

"I talked to Miss Alma today," She told him, crouching down to his level, "She's very nice, isn't she?"

Sharkie nodded. He knew Nestor used to love to talk to Miss Alma... when she still lived in the Nook. The very thought brought tears to Sharkie's eyes and he let out a sniffle.

"Oh no, don't cry Sharkie!" Nestor cooed, "It's okay, you won't need to cry anymore." She reached a paw out towards his face but he pulled away. Today he didn't want comfort and he didn't want Nestor's touch. He didn't want anything, he didn't even want Nestor to be there. She was just going to leave again and his little heart couldn't take the pain.

"You're just going to leave again!" He cried, bringing his little claws up to his face. He pushed into his face as if trying to disappear into himself. Tears streamed down his cheeks. "You're going to leave again Nestor!" He cried and then began to hiccup between frenzied sobs.

Nestor's heart broke for him. His body seemed crumbled in pain. But she was calm. "Sharkie," she said softly, "I'm not going to leave. Today you're leaving."

At this Sharkie looked up at Nestor and hiccuped. "...What?" He whimpered.

She smiled down at the wyngling. "I talked to Miss Alma today. She knows you're unhappy here. And I'm old enough now to make my own decisions. And well... I've decided to take you home Sharkie." She reached her paw out towards him once more. "Sharkie, come with me."

That moment was the beginning of the rest of Sharkie's life.
