Description
So, this is it. I've spent perhaps 2 or 3 years on this paper sculpture. On and off. Mainly off (^.^'). But despite my procrastination, I have to say I am fairly proud of the end result. I've also respected my self-imposed challenge, which was to create this sculpture without using anything but paper and glue. From the details to the structure itself, this bird is made out entirely of paper.Related content

I did a paper owl a while back too. But I use polymer clay for the beak and claws.

Wow! What materials did you use? I might want to do something similar to this! Dragon perhaps.

The materials are extremely difficult to come by, man. First, you must go on a quest to find paper. This alone could take you months, perhaps even years. You're looking for a very specific type of paper: white paper used in a printer. Super hard to come by! And next, you'll need glue. You may have to wrestle a kid at a daycare to obtain that. And kids nowadays are strong and swift, man. You'll need to prepare yourself for this mighty encounter!
TLDR; paper and glue.

... Obviously. I shallΒ rephrase. How did you make this? What were the steps? I wish to make a dragon model please.

Hm, I went at it pretty randomly, to be honest. I had zero planification done. In fact, this bird will serve me as planification for my future sculptures.
I started off with a wing. Adding feathers and feathers until it looked like a wing. This first wing is what decided on the final size of the sculpture. I then made a second wing, roughly identical, but with a slightly different angle (because I didn't want my owl's flight to be static, I wanted some asymetry). For the body, I made a structure in papier machΓ©, but the structure was modified over time (I ended up cutting it, reshaping it, removing an entire half of it, etc.), again due to lack of planification. To this body structure, I've added the head, then the tail, then the legs, and finished with the feathers on the body.
I wish I could tell you more about the science of it, but there really isn't. It's mainly improvisation, step by step. The mistakes I made probably helped me more than anything else in the process, too.

I see. Well thank you for explaining it. may I ask a favor. If you do another paper project like this, please document it. I would love to see the steps in progress. Thank you.

As a matter of fact, I've already started! I'm working on a fish this time. I will make sure to take pictures, and perhaps even create a tutorial documenting my process! Hopefully, that will answers some questions you may still have.
