Happens to be a self portrait.. man, i look like i'm straight out of the late 60's/wolverine. About 8 hours, pastel. I'm pretty happy wif it. THe picture of it is teh sucks.Related content

I'm about to start with pastles and I wanted to know what you prefer to draw on, Canvas or paper. My problem is that I'm ambitious to I'm going to do a life size drawing in pastle, and have never used them before.

well, i prefer paper, Reeves BFK is best. You can layer and rework really easily. So, you need to build up, takes a little while. I've never tried canvas, but knock yourself out!

Oh, my God--I love you! Here I was, beginning to slip into despair, longing to see some traditional art, without computer filters and doctoring-up, and behold! This is wonderful; the various, unusual colors you wouldn't expect to see on a human face--yet they still look natural and lifelike. The pose, the face; it's perfect.
Sorry to bring this up, but I think the hands, although beautifully drawn, are a bit too small. (don't hurt me, plz!)

wow nice colors and expression ect... pastels are so awkward for me to work with... what size is the original? there appears to be a good amount of detail hidden in this, as you admitted, poor picture of it.
you look really angry in this, but i have no clue what you are doing with your hands... about to make fists or about to strangle someone... or maybe you about to pull some kung fu out.... its still a great work.

yes a big scanner would be great... i have an all in one and it doesnt even take 9x12... which is really annoying b/c i do a lot of stuff in that side.... so i have to cut off a little bit on each side....

Her name's Anita Shih, and I think it was Sean Conner's class. Not sure if you two spoke, but she took a photo of your final (the one with the Giant) which was really impressive. Seemed like there was a lot of talent in that room in general.
